Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Tall and narrow to minimize evaporation, this stockpot is designed to simmer stocks, soups, stews, and pasta sauces. With its tight-fitting lid in place, it braises meats, poultry, seafood, and vegetables on top the stove or in the oven. And it functions equally well as a casserole for, say, cassoulet or choucroute. In canning season, it simmers fruits and vegetables. Cuisinart's Everyday Stainless cookware features a bottom disk of copper--cookware's best heat conductor--sheathed in steel to conduct heat rapidly and uniformly, permitting cooking at lower temperatures and preventing scorching. This cookware goes safely into ovens and under broilers, the bottoms don't warp, and it is stain- and corrosion-resistant. Because the handles are welded to the pots and pans, there are no inside rivets to clean around, and the cookware scrubs up hygienically. The mirror-finish 18/10 stainless steel begs to be displayed in an open rack. --Fred Brack

5.0 out of 5 stars Slow Cook in Stainless Steel., January 9, 2001
By Jon D. Luce (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
I like this pot for making homemade sauces, marinara, alfredo, verde, and more. If I make more than I need, I cool and freeze the rest until I need it. That way I usually have some homemade sauce on hand. My family and friends love my fresh from the garden sauces and I hate to disappoint them when they visit. When everything is in season, I use this pot to slow simmer. Brings out all of the flavours.I use it for practically everything else too, including veggies and meats and u name it. Even when I am making just a few tamales. Of course I like Cuisinart too. I have arthritis in my hands and these pans are not too heavy for me and I can get a good grip on the handles. With the copper sandwich bottom heat is distributed even and at lower temperatures. Simple clean up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great size, great price, great quality !, September 23, 2003
By A Customer
I looked everywhere for a small affordable stock pot. This stock pot has everything- great quality, great size and a great price. It's perfect for everyday cooking. Big enough for lots of Chili and soup- yet small and compact for storage. I just love the size!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's absolutely my favorite pot!, November 21, 2003
By A. Murray (PA, United States) - See all my reviews
I purchased this stockpot on a pre-order basis. I'd almost forgotten about it since there was a pretty long lag between ordering and shipping. In September, just as promised, the pot arrived.

When I opened the box and felt the wonderful finish for the first time, I was hooked. In terms of the sensual, this is the smoothest, nicest feeling piece of cookware I own.

Visually, this piece is a treat. I love the way the brand name is visible on it's side. The fine reputation of this company appeals to the snob in me, and the signature on the pot says I have good taste in cookware. Yes, this is a bit of a joke, but not entirely.

I was amazed at how FAST water boils in this pot! Incredible! And the ease of cleaning is fantastic! All stainless steel does in fact get marks and stains, but the finish is so good on this piece, I simply wash and dry it, and put a tablespoon or two of white vinegar in it after cleaning, put the lid on, let it sit overnight, then rinse and dry. Perfect! No harsh chemicals, no scratchy cleansers.... This technique does not work on my other stainless steel.

The pot is heavy, something I like in cookware. It has well designed handles that really do stay cool. It serves it's purpose magnificently. It heats evenly, and I assume this is due to the aluminum bottom.

I searched for a long time to find a pot of this size by the way. Five quarts is so perfect for s single person household, yet for some reason, stockpots of this size are scarce as hen's teeth it seems.

I love this pot! It has me convinced that I want a teakettle made by these people.

Thank you Cuisinart for such a beautiful product!
