It's nice that Pfaltzgraff offers additional place settings, because some companies only sell service for four or for eight. I don't have a ton of kitchen space, so while it would have been nice to have service for 12 (3 boxes of service for four), I didn't really have the room for that. I would have only ordered service for 8. Instead, I was able to purchase two additional 5 piece place settings, which will give me a lot more flexiblility when entertaining. This way I'll have service for 10, which I do have enough room for in my small kitchen. It's also good to have extra dishes in case something breaks. If the pattern is eventually discontinued, you will be glad you ordered additional place settings with your original order to be on the safe side!
I love the rich colors and pretty design on these Pfaltzgraff dishes, and as a former potter, I appreciate the good quality of the clay as well. I bought some Pfaltzgraff serving pieces many years ago, and they are still in perfect conditon! It is great that they are chip-resistant, and are safe in the dishwasher, oven, freezer, and microwave. Beauty, practicality, and a reasonable price through Amazon.com..... What more could you want?!
