Previously I owned what was probably Norelcos base model (think it sold for $30-50). It did an ok job, but tore up my face a bit if there was much growth at all. Thus, I usually ended up having to do some sort of a combination of blade and electric to keep a decent shave. After buying the 6735 I am now down to using only an electric. Being able to shave in the shower makes a huge difference in that I find I get a much closer shave and I don't end up with hair all over the bathroom... not to mention always having a nice clean razor. Would highly recommend this razor to anyone.

(Written by husband) I was suspicous at first that the gel/lotion wet shaving approach would not really make a difference in the quality of my morning shave. I wondered if perhaps a genius at Norelco discovered that by selling a razor that requires the add-on lotion packs they would make a fortune off of me over the lifetime of the product. Guess what, Mr. Sensitive Face says get this razor! My face used to be red for a couple of hours, now it is never red. The razor glides very smoothly, doesn't sting or burn, and the gel/lotion which seems expensive at the cash register goes a long way. Battery life is excellent, I can travel out of town for a week at a time without the charger. The product feels good, works well, I strongly recommend it to everyone. Note: buy the liquid cleaner and lubricant spray. They are required to maintain the product. The ONLY down-side to this razor is that it takes regular cleaning to keep it smelling fresh, even though it is rinsed under the tap after each use. My rating = 100%. Weekly maintenance = 5 minutes.

I received this item for a present and though I was skeptikal from using previous electric shavers, I found the quality and cutting to be exceptional. In fact, this is the best electric shaver I have ever used. Though it doesn't give a close a shave as a manual razor, don't let that discourage you from getting this product. Norelco did a great job designing this product and I recommend it for anyone looking to purchase an electric shaver of their own.
