Created by artist Susan Winget for Portmeirion, these four A Christmas Story salad/dessert plates have a festive mood and versatile construction. Bright and detailed, each plate features imagery and verses from the Clement C. Moore poem "’Twas the Night Before Christmas." A border of holly and a dark red rim complete the plates’ festive effect. First in the series, this set features these verses: "The children were nestled all snug in their beds/While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads," and "So, up to the housetop the coursers they flew/With a sleigh full of toys and St. Nicholas, too." Crafted from fine translucent porcelain, the plates are substantial in weight and safe in the dishwasher, oven, and microwave. They measure 8 inches in diameter. Coordinating bowls, dinner plates, and serving dishes are also available. --Emily Bedard

Acclaimed artist Susan Winget designed "A Christmas Story" for Portmeirion in 1995. It is the first and only depiction of the famous poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas" by Clement C. Moore on fine porcelain tableware and accessories. Each piece features a different scene and story line from this famous poem. Over the years, this delightful table service has become one of the most collectible series of holiday tableware on the market. Portmeirion will continue to expand the collection each year with the introduction of porcelain pieces reflecting more of the story line.
