Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Complete with stem, this charming, apple-shaped dish comes from Le Creuset's Garden Collection. Made in France in the traditional sand-casting method, the rugged cast-iron pan is coated with hard porcelain enamel that resists chipping, staining, and odor absorption. The flared rim facilitates safe carrying from the oven to the table, where the dish picturesquely serves apple crumble, baked apples, macaroni-and-cheese, and plenty more. Le Creuset enameled cast iron safely melts butter on the stovetop, browns under the broiler, marinates meats, and freezes leftovers.

Measuring 8-2/3 inches and holding 2 quarts, the apple dish comes in a choice of exterior colors, with a more neutral tone on the interior. Rounded contours and the smooth enamel coating mean food particles tend not to stick, making cleaning by hand or in the dishwasher a snap. Enjoy choosing matching or coordinating colors for your Le Creuset baking pans, pie dishes, French ovens, and more. Each is covered by a lifetime limited warranty against defects, whether you bought the item yourself or received it as a gift. --Ann Bieri

Product Description

The Apple Dish is a completely unique shape made from the only cookware material that can be cast and offers a fun element for gift giving. All Le Creuset cast iron is completely sealed with vitreous enamel. This includes pan rims which are coated in a clear base coat enamel. Vitreous enamel is an ideal material to use as a cooking surface and is extremely durable, and will withstand the rigors of daily use in the kitchen. Cast iron is an energy efficient material and once hot requires only a low setting to maintain good cooking performance. This versatile piece can be used in theoven, on the stovetop, in the regrigerator (for marinating prior to cooking and for storing left-overs) and even in the freezer.
