This four-piece place setting complements a full line of Provencal dinnerware and sets a table with a bright splash of color. With service for one, the set includes an 11-inch dinner plate, 8-inch salad plate, 9-inch soup/pasta bowl, and 14-ounce mug. The Provencal design features a raised rim that is unadorned for a classic, everyday look. All the pieces are solid in color except the mug, which is glazed white on the inside.

Even after years of use, the glossy, translucent glaze on Emile Henry ware won't discolor, crackle, or show utensil marks. Amazingly durable and versatile, the dinnerware is safe for the freezer, broiler, microwave, oven, and dishwasher. Marcigny, a small town nestling between the hills of Southern Burgundy, has been home to Emile Henry for the past 150 years. Faithful to its origins, the entire production is carried out here. Thanks to its clay, rich in refractory properties, Burgundy has remained a fertile area for potters, passing on their savoir-faire from generation to generation. Clay, a natural and noble material, has been used since the mists of the time to cook or preserve food. While respecting the traditional techniques, Emile Henry has introduced technological improvements (Ceradon ®) so that the dishes are more resistant to mechanical and thermal shock. Strong, durable, all Emile Henry pieces can be taken directly from the freezer to the hot oven, can go under a broiler and is microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe. The natural clay is unsurpassed for conducting and retaining heat. All pieces are perfect for everyday use and carry a 3 year warranty against defects.

I received an email from Amazon informing that the order I placed would not be honored. I am very disappointed that the claimed error checking of advertised prices takes place after a customer makes a purchase during the shipping process and not before. I really wanted these plates and instead of merely having an email notification informing me of Amazon's cancellation, if Amazon will not honor the advertised deal, I think Amazon should offer a concession The item is a new seller for Amazon. There were no pictures at the time of purchase and it is common for Amazon to reduce a new selling price to increase sale volume and customer confidence in the new item in exchange for great customer reviews. Sadly, this review is far from great. Amazon, you can do better.

Very nice dinnerware: Great tough high gloss glazing; very heavy; capable of going from the over or microwave to the table. Will last and look beautiful for years. At the current price (80+% discount), you won't find a set of comparable quality anywhere!

I ordered these dishes and when they arrived I discovered they are not Le Potier but they are actually Provencale--another line manufactured by Emile Henry. They do not have the rings that Le Potier has nor the creme color on the inside of the mugs. They are bright white.

I love Emile Henry but be very careful when you order.

Azur blue is associtated with the Provencale line. If they were Le Potier they would be Lavande blue.
