A decent cage for the price..., March 5, 2007
The following bird cage is a decent enough item, considering the price. Upon recieving the item, I realized there were no assembly instructions.
It was pretty simple to figure out, but the cage does not seem to fit toether quite right, leaving a bit of overhang.
The first thing that can be noticed is how cheap the material is. Although given the price, the cheapness should be assumed. I found the cage to be adequate, since the bird wont notice how cheap the cage is, only you will, if you are ok with that, and don't want to spend a lot of money but want to give you bird a bunch of room, this cage is for you. If you want something nice looking and an additional dequor for your room, probably not the best item to purchase. It will hold up, but the stand seems less stable, although part of that is due to the fact it is on wheels and the cage is so tall.
The cage is rather large, leaving plenty of room for multiple birds (although I only have one). It came with 4 bars to put in the cage, but only two food bins, which is unfortunately 2 short for the amount the cage can support. I noticed that the swing open door will not shut and close properly when you have a food bin in the door slot, which is not a big deal, but just helps show that the parts were not built quite right, and the cage does not fit together as well as one would like.
There is not much else to say, the bird has more room, my wallet is still plenty big, and most of the errors in fitting together are not heavily noticable unless you reallt look at it. A good substitute for someone who likes pets, but also like to keep their money.
Update: Just felt I should add that at the time of purchase, this item was $50, my bird passed away a month after getting this cage. It is a very cheap cage, and not really worth more than the 50 I spent on it.
