Its 1/1.8-type CCD has an effective resolution of 5.0 megapixels, which delivers highly refined images that are ideal for enlarged printing: 43.3 x 32.5 cm/17 x 12.8 inches at 150dpi, or A5-size/6 x 9 inches at 300dpi. For optimum color reproduction, three key features are included: a primary color filter, 12-bit A/D conversion, and Minolta's exclusive CxProcess image processing technology.High-grade Minolta optics harnesses the full potential of the powerful CCD. The Minolta GT Lens is an ultra-compact lens with 8 elements in 7 groups. It has 3 aspherical surfaces to suppress chromatic aberration and image distortion. Only lenses that pass the strictest quality standards earn the GT Lens designation, and are featured on cameras developed under the "Superior Image Quality" concept. Distracting specks of color can be a serious problem with many digital cameras, but not the DiMAGE F300. At slow shutter speeds, its highly effective noise reduction goes into action. Landscapes shot at night, for example, look remarkably clear as a result.
