Product Description

Amazon.com Review

This system, previously available only to professionals, offers homeowners the advantages of separating steam generation from the iron. Separate steam generation is ideal for heavy ironing and specialty sewing and craft work; it means the iron weighs less and steam generation goes on and on, with fewer interruptions for refilling. Rowenta's steam generator holds 33 ounces of tap water, enough for 90 minutes of continuous steaming. A flexible 68-inch tube connects the generator to the iron and permits the generator (11 by 6 by 8-3/4 inches) to be placed on the ironing board or on the floor. For safety, a valve prevents the accidental opening of the generator during steaming. The iron is first-rate, with a smooth-gliding, polished stainless-steel soleplate; variable steam; and vertical steam for removing wrinkles in curtains and hanging garments. The generator and iron carry a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny, March 7, 2002
By Kyle Smith (Columbus, Ohio United States) - See all my reviews
Spend the $, get the best
Steam generation is continuous making the aweful job of ironing as easy as it can be.
I've stopped taking my shirts to the cleaners for pressing. This iron is so easy to use and so effective that I now starch my own shirts with liquid starch. I just dip the shirts in a starch bath in the sink and then spin them out in the washer spin cycle, then hang them to dry (wrinkles and all).
When I go to press them, the steam produced from this iron penetrates right through the dry fabric and starch reactivating it for a crisp press that's better than professional.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Iron I've EVER used!, June 2, 2002
By Patsey Brock (Scottsdale, AZ) - See all my reviews
First, I love to iron...yes, there's only two of us left now! This iron makes it even more fun. It's never necessary to go over an area twice...my ironing gets done is half the time...and pants have creases similar to the efforts of a dry cleaners. The only minor problem at first was unscrewing the cap to the water tank; but once you've worked with it a little, it becomes easy. Also, the iron itself is extremely light weight, and the sole plate remains shiny and clean. Feel like I should go out and buy a second one in case it disappears from the market...it's that good.

5.0 out of 5 stars You Deserve It ! !, August 21, 2001
By A Customer
This is a wonderful iron!! The iron is light and easy to handle but the outstanding feature is the steam. Your clothes will look as if you just picked them up from the dry cleaners. It is amazing what a change the steam from this iron makes compared to a regular steam iron on your clothing. It reduces ironing time considerably. I should have purchased this years ago---
