Don't watch the movie, my friend watched it and advised me to stay away from it but I couldn't because I enjoyed the book so much, so I ended up watching it....he was, like many book-movie adaptations failed horribly.

But wait a minute. Why would a DVD, let alone Richard Burton's last film, be out of print.

It smacks of the thought police and the ministry of truth.

Eric Perlin says:
Which movie version did you see? There were three films based on Orwell's "1984". One starred Edmond O'Brien, another starred Peter Cushing, and the third version starred John Hurt and Richard Burton. I've seen the John Hurt-Richard Burton version and it was excellent; very faithful to the book and perfectly cast.
