I have a small Acer netbook which is compact and great to carry around at only a few pounds. To attain that size and weight it unfortunately doesn't have a CD drive to enter new programs onto the computer. Staples and other office stores only carried the expensive $80 range CD/DVD/writable, etc. - much more than I need just to put in a program. This small, efficient CD drive was just plug and play easy. And all of this for under $10.!!! Unbelievable! The shipping charge was almost more than the CD drive - still a great deal. What a buy! Good quality and came with all the needed cables. I can't be happier with my purchase.

The package does not include a disc with the drivers needed to use the CDROM on your computer. And, there are no brand markings on the CDROM so it is impossible to download them online. Complete waste of money, unless you are looking for a paperweight or drink coaster!

Totally did not work. Could not get the thing to even open.
I got what I paid for I guess. I know next time to pay a little more and get one that actually works.

I purchased this to use on my netbook. The listing didn't state what operating system I needed to use, but purchased because of the price. It doesn't work on Windows 7, and since it doesn't install, I can't even change the OS to install. I'm sure I will keep it, but don't quite know how well it really works.

No problem with the seller. I ordered this because my kids PC's don't have a CD-ROM. I ordered the external to install Office on their laptops. The external arrived with the drivers on a floppy disk. I don't have a floppy drive even on my laptop. A CD would have been better. Now I have to search for the drivers online and burn them to a CD.

I wanted something inexpensive to load programs in my new Toshiba Satellite notebook. The Acer Aspire 24x speed CD USB external drive arrived quickly and turned out to be a very good buy. I plugged up both USB cords and it worked without any issues loading programs amazingly fast. However, the next time I plugged it up the computer didn't recognize the drive. Swapping ports solved the problem. I loaded in the software which appeared to correct the driver issue. I should have spent the extra money for an external burner to make system back up discs. This product also worked without using the USB power cord.

The cd-rom drive did not work and I had to pay the return shipping for a refund.

Only purchased it to install software my printer and it was wonderfull at doing so. If you are looking to add software this is the product for you.

Easy to use, does what it's supposed to do. Nothing special, good for the amount paid.

I did get one software CD to download with this drive, but it will not play DVDs , etc. By the time I found this out, it was too late to return.
