I bought this to use CD installations but now most of software CDs are actually DVDs.
I realized this after I bought this.
So check the CDs that you have and buy external DVD, not CD.
In my opinion, recommend to buy external DVD, not this CD drive.

I used this product for a netbook. Was very easy to use and was able to install a printer on the netbook. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

The Dell Inspiron mini does not include a disk drive and I was in need of one for school. This one was fairly cheap and does what I need it to do for school. I am now able to install CD's on my mini and do not have to worry about downloading the software from the internet or having to make do without the software.

It is very easy to install: just plug the included cord into the disk drive and then plug it into a USB port on the mini and you are good to go because the computer does the rest of the installation via Plug'n'Play.

It is also very easy to use: just plug it in and then open to insert the CD.

It is also very portable because it is small and lightweight.

All in all, it is a great addition to the Dell mini.

Easy install and functioned perfectly right out of the box. Has a bit of
a "flimsy feel" to it(why I gave it 4 stars not 5) but for my occasional use
it's perfect especially when one considers the low price. A must for Dell mini.

This is a very picky product, and it doesn't read most cds. I'm very disappointed, but too lazy to get a refund.

I purchased this to place Win XP back on my laptop now that it has a new HD but it is not working for that. I can not give a proper review I guess since it doesn't do what I wanted to do but it appears to work just fine. It arrives quickly and in great condition so it was a great buy. Only wish laptop would pick up the installion disk correctly

I thought for the nominal sum of 12.00+ this would be nothing special.
I was right. My netbook did not immediately recognize the unit.
The biggest issue is the vibration noise as the cd spins...very very noisy.
If I want to quiet it down, I need to put a book on top of it.
Would not recommend except for the price...you get what you pay for.

This item was shipped on time and in great shape. I like the way it was packaged to prevent damage to the product.

This item is just what a mini needs. Glad I got it and wish I'd done it sooner. Works perfect!

I used this with my dell mini top because it did not come with a cd/dvd drive. This was perfect for installing apps with a cd. Great price point!!
