Makes a great gift for any scrapbooking fan!
It's divided into four sections:
Our Ancestry: Individual pages for information about wife & husband's parents, grandparents and great grandparents. Only room for each person's name, birth/death date, place of birth and hometown with a few lines to write a some memories down at the bottom of the page. On the Grandparent page the prompt is "Reminisce about your aunt and uncles."
Our Growing Up Years: Husband & Wife's Childhood Memories, Early School Years, College Years
Our Life Together: Our Wedding, Our Homes, Work History, Community Life, Military Service
Our Life With Children: Becoming Parents, Baby & Toddler Years, Children's Schooling, Travel, Family Pets, Family Friends, Our Cars, Holiday Celebrations, Religious Life...
There's not enough space to ever go into much detail and record lots of stories (which is what I wanted). For instance, there aren't even enough lines to record all the jobs I've ever had (I've had 6, by the way, but there's only space for 4 jobs.)
There are cardboard pages after each major section to include pictures, but they must fit the precut spaces. I don't see the "family tree...included to give a visual presentation of your ancestral background."
I haven't decided if I'm keeping this book or not. Eventually my boyfriend and I will marry and have children, but I think I'd want to include much more detail than is possible in this book...
If you want a general overview of yours, your spouse's and your children's lives to hand down to them, then this book is for you.
I bought one for myself and 4 others for the other mom's in my family.
Specifically, this book appears geared toward a married couple who has grown children, although it could be useful for a married couple with minor children (only children of that marriage) to start working on as a keepsake for the future. It goes through the whole married couple's lives to preserve family memories and traditions for future generations.
Other sections also seem to predetermine the family's characteristics. Both husband and wife have a section to fill out about their college attendance. There is a whole section on religious ceremonies for the children. I hope this helps future buyers decide if the book is for them. If your family fits all those molds you might give it five stars for quality.
The book did have room for the current generation's stories as time goes on, however, which is a nice perspective.
It will add to other books that will be purchased for the actual tree outline.

Very poor family tree. Not enough pages for both maternal and paternal heritage. Do NOT buy.Published 14 months ago by no maintenance
Disappointed. Had hoped for more pedigree charts and places for pictures to go with them--also places to comment on the relative. This had too much "other stuff" in it.Published 17 months ago by Diane
I ordered this hoping it would be okay for my husband. The design on the front was fine, but I couldn't see inside of it and of course it didn't show any other images, so I had no... Read morePublished on December 21, 2013 by Sara
I wasn't very impressed with this Family Tree Album. I've been looking for a classy album to record all of my family history in, and this was not it. Read morePublished on December 17, 2012 by Elaina_Hall
These books are the best to give as gifts to the family. I purchased 7 books and they all came in great condition. I will definitely purchase these books again.Published on June 17, 2010 by D. Terrones
This is exactly the type of object I was looking for. A great keepsake, one to add info as needed or arises, and attractive on top of it.Published on February 16, 2010 by James P. Cucinelli
