About the Author

Cleveland P. Hickman, Jr. has been conducting research on Galápagos marine invertebrates for more than 20 years. He lives in Lexington, Virginia where he taught zoology and animal physiology and continues research at Washington & Lee University. He is the author of three textbooks of zoology. He received his Ph.D in comparative physiology from the University of British Columbia

Todd L. Zimmerman holds Masters degrees in marine biology and is currently a doctoral candidate at UCLA. He works extensively with the Allan Hancock crustacean collections and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. His past and ongoing research includes crustacean ecology, biogeography and taxonomy, focusing on the island faunas of Cocos and the Galápagos in the eastern Pacific, and the Virgin Islands in the Caribbean.
