WD TV Live Hub 1TB Media Center (Old Model)
Used & New from: $180.00
How do I get files onto the WD TV Live Hub? How do I go about transferring files onto the internal hard drive of the WD TV Live Hub? Everywhere I've seen has only mentioned connecting it to the network and copying it that way. I am on a mac, will it still work over the network? I plan to be taking this box around with me to say watch a movie at a friends house. So I want to be able to easily connect / disconnect it from my computer and transfer files. This way, I wont need to carry an external hard drive as well.

Hi, i connected to the device from a Mac as well as a PC. it uses SMB networking. If it doesn't automatically show up in your shared pane on Mac, just connect to it via its IP address.

The trick is "how fast"
It may take days to fill the drive depending on the speed.
I am worried it will take as long as a movie to transfer an HD movie

I connected my external usb drive which has dvd movies on it. It asked if I wanted to copy the usb drive to the internal drive. I said yes and it copied the whole thing. That's a good thing because the next week my external usb drive became unusable. It still shows the files on the external drive but has trouble accessing some of them. The files it copied to the internal drive are just fine. I have been unable to copy the files from the internal 1 TB drive to another external drive. It seems to be a one way operation.
