In this book, which deserves space in all collections, Hawkins details the e-mail correspondence of Flambeau with a superior, Scraptus. The lack of gender or other identifying features gives the main characters a chilling anonymity, making them every man [sic] everywhere. In careful detail, Scraptus provides a "Foundational Strategy," using criticism, gossip, manipulation, and a host of other business and personal strategies to attack the foundation of God's plan--salvation--with a successful marketing campaign. Witty and appallingly realistic in his use of electronic communication as a medium, Hawkins employes a tongue-in-cheek humor as a slap-in-the-face wakeup call to Christians who just might recognize themselves in the examples of the strategies employed by Dark Corp: gossip, innuendo, spite, greed, and much more that will undermine the strength of the church.
