I have an ASCII file with batch header records followed by incidents (can import to Excel). Will Filemaker enable me to collate incidents with headers?

Yes...FileMaker can be programmed to do nearly anything. If you can import it, you can write scripts to edit the data. - Tim Cimbura

Unfortunately, I am a MAC user and use Filemaker for very simple files.

Yes, I have imported records from both ASCII and Excel files which can then be sorted or collated as needed.
