Imam Al-Nawawi's collection is definitely helpful for one studying hadith. However it should be noted that though most of his collection of Hadith are small and simple, they should be accompanied with a work with a formal explanation including but not limited to, the time, the mood of the prophet, the context, and a scholarly interpretation. Because Hadith are far more complicated than most people believe, and this book leaves far too much to potential error.
