Ha ha you never have played fable have you? sex is handled real well. It is also extremely humorous. You can get STD's, have kids, have sex with prostitutes, same sex relationships, and now group sex. I honestly can't wait I hade seven wives and seven children in Fable 2. After having sex with one of my wives she would say "oh I feel pregnant..." that was hilarious. And STD's were a great idea to keep you semi monomous. And the same sex relations weren't my thing but why not? I'll never forget when I was playing Fable and my brother was watching, at the age of ten. Throwing out hero poses in the main square, love hearts popping up on womens heads. The n a guy walking past carrrying a box dropped it and got a love heart above his head. My brother asks why did he get a love heart? Is he gay? Oh yuck. Funny as hell.

I believe sex is just fine in any medium. I find that Americans are prude and uncomfortable with sex, but I have no idea why that would be. For example: My film teacher will let us watch any film, no matter how much violence is in it. But on the other hand, the administration won't let us watch Eyes Wide Shut. Can someone with a brain explain this to me?

I hate American puritanical values, it makes me sick.

I can understand you sentiment my English teacher made us watch Witness and Shawshank redemption. I would have rather honestly watched Saving Private Ryan. But I guess there aren't enough motifs or moving scenes (This is sarcasm on my part.). As for Americas puritan values I am tired of hearing sex shouldn't be in video games. That isn't justification or reasoning its just a sentence. Kids know sex exists they don't know the exact details but they know of it. If a video game can keep the mystery alive but portray some of the issues like having children, STD'S and marriage but leave the mystery of the act alone, why not? I not saying put it in every video game. But adults find it humorous and kids know they came from somewhere so why not. OR we could burn all the books with sex in them and build a wall around our country. Then Blame society when our child experiments not knowing the consequences and has a child or STD. That would be better as I say "The emu with its head buried in the sand does not see the car."

Joy...why does this sicken you? What do you have against sex? Can't handle it? We're not asking for full-on porn in video games, we're asking that sex be explored as part of the human interaction between characters. As 60% said, the Fable series handles this very well...with humor too, as sexual situations often can be.

What do you think video games should be Joy? They aren't for kids anymore, and as far as I know, adults are allowed to have sex. Besides, video games are WELL behind the curve when it comes to media kids get their sex info from. It really should be the LEAST of your worries, Joy. Why don't you complain about cell phones, the internet, cable shows, movies, teen romance novels, peer pressure....want me to go on? Video games are FAR down on the list of things that influence kids, despite what those wacko moron conservative politicians say. They know absolutely nothing.

Video games are getting more and more graphically advanced. The storylines are better and better. They have professional voice acting from well respected major celebrities. And they have the budgets of most movies. If sex is allowed and explored in movies and TV, why the hell not video games? We all got here on this planet, Joy, thru sex...someone did the nasty with someone else. You need to turn off the Glenn Beck and accept that fact...or maybe just get some yourself ;-)

Yeah, keep trying to delete me Amazon...this isn't North Korea.

I LOVE Fable, 60%. I just picked up Fable 3 Tuesday and am jumping back in as soon as I finish typing this. I'm not too far into it as I initially had trouble deciding to play as the Prince or Princess. As the Prince, I can bed tons of hot women, but as the Princess, you get to see her in her undies as you change wardrobe, apply tattooes, etc... I decided to play thru first as the Prince, then try the Princess.

Does anyone know, can the Princess lure women who's description says "lesbian", into bed? I just noticed a villager that said that and its too late to start over again with the Princess. I wanna know if you can get the Princess into a little hot l*sbo lovin' :-)

The Princess is obviously a lipstick, or the "Hottie", and I suppose I could find a "Nottie" to complete the "Lesbian Rule of Two".

Not that I agree or have any comment on your "Lesbian Rule of Two" but I am wondering if you can "TURN" villagers and I don't mean twilight turn. Question is are the villagers born gay or are they hetero and then meet the Hero of their dreams and turn? I'm also the only person who's played for 10 hours and doesn't have kids or a sexual partner. I'm saving that for when I own a couple of businesses. Then I am going to try my hardest to catch a STD and have the biggest orgy possible, then start the baby factory. All just for a laugh. Fable 3 is a fantastic game but I have not seen a sex scene or group sex scene, though I am sure they will handle them well. If I wanted to masturbate I would watch a porno, though you JOY with your caveman ideals would still frown. But I want to be entertained and laugh about life, love and STD's so I will play Fable 3. You've forgotten a large factor of Fable 3, not that I've tried but you can kill your kids. You care so much about sex that you have overlooked that fact. To busy watching Cartman naked, to notice Butters has a ninja star in his eye.
I don't think your going to get any of these references though JOY, because you had to ask permission from one of your seven husbands to get let out of your cult's compound to go to the library to be able to write on this forum in the first place. But your argument was valid, and enthralling and thankyou for posting it. I am surprised you know what a porno is, though I'm pretty sure its only the dictionary definition.

Yeah, its like the Sith in Star Wars...always two, no more, no less. So for lesbians, theres always one you could kinda see yourself doing, maybe with a couple drinks...then there's the "man" lesbian...with the short haircut, deep voice, and heavier set. Two lipstick lesbians only exist on TV and in vampires.

Its also a Law of Physics.

Spartacus's Law of Physics (N=1) = 2(p/100) but if (N=2) = (p/100) = (u/100)x1000) = H, if H is >75%, then there is a high probability of u = <25% where N= number of lesbians p=lesbian one hotness on a scale of 1 - 100 and u= hotness of lesbian 2 on a scale of 1 - 100. This is following the Spartacus Law of Physics, Lesbian Rule of two, if the number of lesbian or N=2 then p will be drastically larger than u. But there is a diesel dike rule of if p = <10%, then also u = <10%.
You can't argue with it, its physics, deal with it!!!

No, you can't argue with that.

Its interesting you changed your name for my law...I'm flattered. A little creepy, but flattering.

Its also known as "The Rule of the Hottie and the Nottie"

Oh, my GOD! Indigo Prophecy is one of my top 5 games of all time. Who cares about the 'sex' part. The game is unbelievable!

I don't want to see sex I'm video games, or nude cartoons, but I wouldn't mind mild sexual suggestions.

I think it's pretty kewl to have sex scenes in games...the adult ones of see enough garbage in their everyday life...but the kids are already smarter than us...soooo, if anyone thinks their brainy game child hasn't already dowloaded some pretty disturbing things...think again. I'm a combat veteran...hey, to me violence is far worse than consentual sex scenes among animated characters...I love Mass Effect/Mass Effect 2, but they hardly have their clothes off. Dragon Age took things a lil' further...and I must say I enjoy the nude mods, where half my characters are running around naked :)

Who does it effect exactly? The Kids! For those of us who are adults and make our own decisions...what does it matter? I think the responsibility falls on parents, if there's a concern...I pretty much blame them for everything that's wrong with their f'd up kids. No one gets punished anymore...we can't call a spade a spade and we're sposta' be "politically correct," so as not to offend anyone...we're raising a nation of fat little softies. I think sex in the games is relevant because it's partially what I enjoy about it and that's relevant enough to me. It's like watching an R rated movie...granted some movies use sex to make people watch them but isn't it really a personal choice? I don't think that the absence of sex in the games I mentioned would have made them less relevant, but it's a fine addition. The writers hashed out some believable characters and it's cool to feel that emotive response when your character finally lands his babe or fellow.

So ask yourself this..."Is it more relevant to exploit violent murder in games than it is to show two "lovers" loving?" Why not block out blood and the act of killing in we have to see it or can we be satisfied knowing that it happened and move on...get my point...these are all issues that will never be won because they're based on opinion. "All or nothing," I say...and bridle those young ones before they eat your lunch = mwahahahaha!!!

Great post Brian. I, too, am a veteran and it vexes me that extreme violence is so readily accepted in this culture, in all media, yet sex is still taboo.

Yes, parents should *try* and shelter their kids from certain things, but people need to be realistic. In this age of mass media, parents can in no way limit what their kids are being exposed to anymore. Someone at school is GONNA show them something, sometime. No way around it. Best parents can do anymore is simply be open and honest with their communication, and talk TO their children, not DOWN to them. Take away the mystique of some of these taboo subjects and kids won't be so rebellious. Like that South Park episode, if you want the kids to stop doing something, have the parents think its really cool.

Namaste to you.

In game, suggestions are fine... I just don't need to see genitals, thrusting or heads bobbing - it seems pointless. If the suggestions give us the "idea" of sex, why not just suggest and avoid offending the many people a game with nudity and such can so obviously offend. Just look at the forums, at some points there is a 50/50 ratio in choice of whether sex is offensive or not, so why not just play it safe and keep it to sexual suggestions. I see no problem in parents wanting to protect their children, a parent should feel safe to buy a game if their child is gonna lock himself in a bedroom for weeks, be antisocial and play it.
I have no qualms with sex between me and a partner, but feeling like a voyeur makes me uncomfortable, as well as many others. Feeling like a voyeur makes some feel violated. Yes, times have changed, but there's no reason to make children grow up quicker, or offend people or make parents fear video games.

Just my opinions and feelings.
I'm fine with fable - no naked cartoons, just suggestions. I love it, but I don't think games like grand theft auto should go so far. Or Mafia2, or even boobs in godfather. Pointless.

Please understand, we will always have our own feelings and opinions, we are each human, and unique and thats alright. It's very okay to have different feelings about different things or situations. This debate can go on years and forever if we let it. We can't really change the way another person feels. Let's try to understand each other and be adults and not condone each other for having different opinions. This is okay. It's like a poll. Let's be happy to hear others opinions, let's not offend or be offended :).

You're all awesome. Really you are, regardless of what your opinions are. I wish I could understand you all and know you all better. I can't really understand why she may prefer say - true blood, while he may pre fore hentai. But we are unique and not here to judge.
