i have played the game and for all parents do not let your kid play this game. there is a good reason why ESRB has a rating for adults only/AO-18, the game has very high sexually. you can even see the dog having sex with another dog? and strip clubs in the game are close and similar or if not, better than the real thing. Thanks to Rockstar for making it accurate. Rockstar has once again raised the bar this time. Good thing my kids are older and grown and they owned their own respective GTA 5 and the playstation systems.

Grand theft auto is boring. It's just like walking around my neighborhood in fresno, CA. People getting shot, robbed, raped everywhere. Why would I want to play a game about living in the ghetto, when living in the ghetto sucks?

" I am a mature 14 year old"

LOL! you're not mature till you hit 21+ of age, you're still a kid. ask your mom or dad if you're mature enough to watch porn.

Im 14 and play GTA V, Battlefield, etc. I played GTA Sanandreas when I was 9 because I have known about this stuff since I was like 6 or 7. I am a mature 14 year old, so I think if he is mature and knows everything (probably does) then let him play it.

Well i have played M rated games since i was 4 years old. My parents are great and i know my priorities and what not. I always knew that what happens in games stays in games. But video games were never the problem, its whether or not the child knows better. I turned out well, and i havent done anything wrong to this day. So id say, GTA 4 based on the rating system isnt appropriate but the kid if he is mature enough should be able to play it without any problems or concerns.

ok....umm, GTA5 is definitely not gonna be a game for kids under 18, i'm watching a almost 4 hour gameplay video of it, and....wow, Rockstar has really gone over the edge with the stripers at the strip clubs, they actually show the whole bit of the bewbs, nipples and all, when you pay a girl to dance in front of you in a private room in the club!

well as far as GTA5 goes, there's more than just harsh language in it that parents of a 15 year old would frown on, I can tell ya that much right now.

idommah says:
absolutely! i used to play it since i was 9 year old. don't get me wrong. other GTA's. even tho its Rated M. most of it is just language. thats all. and its not like your kid never heard or said some specific words. and at 15. he probably played some other GTA before. no direct adult content what so ever. Rockstar knows most of the buyers are 16- people!

i agree with you there. Until today i still fail to understand why parents still think video games in general and GTA series would cause a person to go out and shoot people. As a parent and a gamer, it is not the games that cause violence, it the person who may have mental problems that think it okay to shoot and kill people. there are so many factors that can cause a person to do that. Video games isn't one of them. I think it time to face the truth that video games has no play into this. I remember back in the early 90's with home video gaming maturing, some doctors who clearly hated video games then spreading lies about gaming. At that point we started the rating system just to satisfied the people who wrongly believed that video games kill people.

Lot of prude, uptight parents on this forum. I was playing the original gta when I was 8 and have played them all since. I'm 26, married, with kids, and I don't murder people for fun. They'll be just fine.

i know this a old post, i would like to point out , rockstar made a updated version of GTA 4 for pc and removed original version for GTA PS3 console. however a person could find the orginal version on sites like ebay. I had a original version for PC, not all pretty ( chuckles)

what the point of having a rating system, for this game GTA, some of what it has , kids already experienced it in real life, or see it on the news which is not rated. Hiding behind ratings system for this game is ridiculous. GTA should be open to all who wants to buy the game. my first violent game was nuke dukem back in the 90's and alot younger than 15. by the way, i have kids both of them play GTA series.

Yeah why not? I played my first GTA San Andreas when I was 7

I dunno about you, but I'd rather play a rated MA game online with no kids at all, they ruin the experience in playing games in a big way.

Nice job taking it to the extreme. No main character in a grand theft auto has been a racist, genocidal maniac. They only DEAL with these people. Sure, you play as killers, but they're not racists. In fact, some of them don't even do drugs (like CJ from GTA SA).

BLACK OPS2 and GTA4 are rated M for *very* different reasons... Even though they have the same rating descriptor on the back. (Looks like the ESRB isn't so fail-safe after all, hmm...) Anyway, GTA's "strong language" is, in fact, just the passing curse, but ALSO very graphic descriptions of sexual activity, antagonisms to do bad things, catcalls, descriptions of drug trafficking, and more; BO2 just has bad language, and a description of a drug ring that you're trying to STOP. You are basically exposed to all of the same things in both games, but you halt them in BO2 (good thing), vs. inciting them in GTA4 (bad thing). Of course, I love both games, but I'm also 32. (I started these kind of games at 9, though.)
