Here is one I recently read that I really enjoyed. I gravitate towards action and horror.
The Trinity Signs

Good versus evil always seems to keep my attention. I can easily see this as a movie. What others are you all reading? I'm looking for something similar in theme, but i like the "indie" price tag of below $3.

Mine is a crystal-punk fantasy (the genre is about to take off) with a lot of action.

Try The Fire At Falcon Point. It is free to borrow with Amazon Prime. Lots of good vs. evil stuff and a team of protagonists fighting the good fight.

Check this one out.

Horror, action, violence, etc. etc.

It's a vampire book by someone who apparently hates vampires (without the jocularity of 'You Suck!'):

Here's some kick butt action thriller: Memoria (a dystopian thriller) It's sort of noir murder mystery technothriller, if you know what I mean :) with some tough baddies and lone heroes - real guys' stuff! :)

Vette Head's Not Dead follows some former intelligence officers (male and female), later in life as they test their old skills against a neo-nazi militia group, deep in the New Hampshire and Maine woods.

If you dig vigilante / revenge style action novels similar to Brian Garfield's Death Wish, check out my novel, Killer Instincts.

A story inspired by the author's hometown back in the early days.- A journey to love, hate, and racial prejudice combined with mystery, suspense, action, drama and adventure.

I only recently got into the reading the action genre (love a good action movie but never thought reading it could measure up) and the first "indie" I read was Avenger of Blood. Not sure what the one reviewer was talking about but it's a bit heavy on character/drama, possibly why I liked it, and had some riveting action pieces.
