Nothing's better than a primary source, Manuel. That is so great you were actually there.

Cody McGrew says:
I have some Screamers material if you'd hit me up on AIM. One is a two disc set called 'In A Better World' which features mainly live material and then i have another disc called 1977-78. From what I've listened of both the live material is really rough and the quality is no to good but the Demos are fantastic. I think 'I Wanna Hurt' is probably one of the best punk songs i've ever heard.

Also i'll take a look around for some Slaves material.

Anyway anyone who's interested hit me up and i'll send some your way, nobody should be depraved of Screamers goodness.

SN is ForSatori1919

So the demos are pretty decent Cody? Good to know. Might get ahold of you yet. :-)

These last few minutes have been very surreal looking at this forum. Here you all are sharing bands and whatnot(you know, Amazon stuff), which is all well and good...but does any one care to explain where the initial topic of the discussion came from...some absurd talk about "Sex Pistols Misfire"?

Yeah, it's crazy but it's great! I'm gonna see Flipper, Negative Trend, The Mutants, The Avengers, at The Fillmore S.F. 07/26/08 for The Pioneers Of Punk Show. I guess it stemmed from talking about the Pistols (who I saw at Winterland) and branched of to discussing about other great Punk Rock Bands.

Manuel, you lucky bugger. It's criminal how the older she gets Penelope just looks hotter and hotter. Exene could stand a lesson or two from her, and you're going to see her AND Flipper? I'm so envious, but "that's the way-- of the worrrrrrrrld."

Dino says:
Yeah, she still looks hot. I saw her last year at a small club called Cafe Du Nord with the original guitar player Greg Ingram. The guitar player from their first ep, "Car Crash" and "We Are The One". I was so close I even strummed his guitar when he was playing "Car Crash". They're still really great. You should also check out The Mutants. Their CD is called "Fun Terminal". Yeah, it's gonna be nice to see all "The Pioneers Of Punk" show at the Fillmore. I'll give my full report after the show. I still love Punk Rock. Right now I'm listenting to the Rezillos at 9:00am. Thanks for the support!

The weirdos were one of the first and best punk bands in LA. I had the joy of seeing them many many times. Do check them out.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks so! I like "Happy Happy Happy People!" I'm just reclining in my new chase lounge! I've been fortunate to have seen them in the early '80s and '90s. My band used to cover "Solitary Confinement" , it's one of their best songs, there are so many. Their first EP with "Big Shot" got me hooked on them. I'm glad there are other Weirdos fans out there. Punk Rock still lives here in S.F. I'm gonna see The Damned, October 28th at "Slims". See you there!

Manuel - re: the Slaves, it was put out on Happy Hermit which was Johnette Napolitano and Dave Mankey's imprint for IRS... I played on a couple tracks, Dominique and Soul Power which I had previously recorded a number of years earlier with Rik... the Slaves LP was released on vinyl and CD as well... don't know where you can track it down now... I've got some copies of the original Soul Power single left btw, only 1000 pressed way back when.
