Try out GROUNDWORK by Wesley Ellis. It's got a 5 star review here (Only one so far), but (7) 5 Star Reviews on iTunes and (1) 4 star review on Google Play. You might like it pretty well.

It's his first debut album, and he's unsigned and unmanaged.

Bob Bykowski says:
'Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs' by Derek and the Dominos is the debut that I would say is the strongest ever in rock history. In fact, it's got to be one of the ten greatest rock albums in general.

Also (in no particular order):

'Pretenders' (self-titled) -- The Pretenders;
'Are You Experienced ?' -- The Jimi Hendrix Experience;
'The Velvet Underground and Nico';
'Mr. Tambourine Man' -- The Byrds;
'Jesus of Cool' -- Nick Lowe;
'Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols' -- The Sex Pistols

One of the best "The Cars" by the Cars. A seamless sonic tour from first cut to last. Roy Thomas Baker produced. I don't usually remember who produced an album but this is a great one.

"Ten" - Pearl Jam
Did I miss it or has this highly proficient collection of songs that helped define the group as the 'spokesmen' for their rapidly dissatisfied 'Generation X' audience been overlooked? Ohhhh, the thought of it! lol

Nirvana opened the door and Pearl Jam walked right in with "Ten," a highly remarkable album?

Also, "Broken Boy Soldiers" - The Raconteurs
Not nearly as impressionable as "Ten" but still a great album. "Jack White is the best guitarist playing today," - Keith Richards. You may or may not agree with KR, but you at least have to think about what that means given the number of other guitarists a guy like him (KR) has seen, heard, + played with throughout his life, as well as the number of other names he could have mentioned.

Alice in Chains?!?!?!

I am sure the time and place and the company in which you heard this makes this onto your list.....otherwise, pretty mediocre....I like Coogs' take on GNR though......
