Prestige is a bad joke. I don't know what good this will do by positng on a forum. It would be nice if one could actually communicate directly with Amazon about the quality of their service. Prestige has lost deliveries for me that they've carried for Amazon. The Louisville warehouse for Amazon is a two hour drive from Cincinnati! The packages go to a limbo facility in Blue Ash and never come out. Paying for Prime membership means two day delivery, UPS never fails, even across the country. Prestige can't make the two hour dirve up the freeway. Plus you cannot get real-time tracking on their website. I must say that everytime I notified Amazon about non-delivery, they immediately re-shipped the order, this time by UPS. Hope someone notices how many packages are lost by Prestige!

I have the same experience with Prestige.
I have complained to Amazon and the reply says the right thing - but will Amazon do the right thing?
If Prestige can actually deliver something on-time, during business hours, without damaging the item, I don't care.
But what is the likelihood that will happen?

Chuck Kasek says:
I ordered a package on friday, july 30, and got the shipping notification around 1AM on the 31, saying Prestige was the delivery company, with a delivery date of August 3. August 3 came and went, no package was delivered. Amazon tracking says the shipment has left the seller facility (which is about 30-45 minutes from my house). Prestige tracking says they never received the package from Amazon.

Amazons response was to wait two more days, and if I still don't have my package to let them know. They also make the token gesture of an extra month of Prime, but that rings hollow if this is going to be a common problem with these guys.

I have the same issues with Prestige. Loved UPS and they have done a wonderful
job all of these years in delivering packages on time and with a great attitude. Since Prestige took over they have left packages sitting outside of our shop, even though it
is posted as closed on Mondays. Thank goodness it did not rain and no one took
them. Now, I have been a Prime customer for years and this latest incident is the
first time that I have not seen my package with no explanation. It was to be delivered
yesterday and still has not shown up. The tracking site for Prestige states that they
received paperwork but no parcel from Amazon. I find that unusual. Never happened
with UPS. Many times my UPS shipped items arrived even earlier than stated. If Amazon continues to use Prestige and there continues to be problems, I will seek another source for books! disgruntled

I understand that delivery drivers are trying to crank out as many deliveries as possible. I also don't really care. That doesn't excuse leaving an expensive package on a front porch in full view of everyone driving by the house. Nor is it an acceptable reason to leave electronics outside in the rain. The delivery driver does not know what is in the package, or when the recipient might be returning, so just leaving it outside is NOT ACCEPTABLE unless the resident has so specified. It is also worth noting that their are people that follow delivery trucks' routes and grab packages that are left at doors, makes a thief's life really easy. For the last 6 years or so, I have been lucky enough to have had first a lockable outdoor closet and now an unattached garage, where delivery drivers can safely leave my package and lock it up safely, and when I am expecting a package, I leave notes up directing them to do so. Just dropping a package on a front stoop, though, and hoping it doesn't get ruined or stolen? Not acceptable. That's what door tags are for.

so just leaving it outside is NOT ACCEPTABLE unless the resident has so specified

The shipper (the company that is sending you the package) tells the carrier what is acceptable to them. The shipper is paying the bills. Your wants and desires are accomodated within what the shipper has instructed the carrier to do, and what they're paying the carrier to do.

If the shipper wants the carrier to just leave the package, that's the shipper's perogative, and the carrier follows their directions first, your wishes second, assuming they don't conflict with what the shipper wants or has paid for.

When that's not acceptable, you need to go back to the shipper -- the company you're paying -- not the carrier that the shipper has contracted with to deliver the package. That's the way the contractual relationships work.

This company sucks... Go back to UPS....

Truth Maiden says:
Prestige is awful! This bootleg "delivery" company keeps losing my packages. They receive the paperwork but they say they never received the package. I already told Amazon if they ship my packages by these idiots again instead of UPS, I'm cancelling my Prime membership.

Now I have to wait until tomorrow to call Amazon again to tell them Prestige lost my package. Tomorrow is Friday. I wanted my package TODAY so I could watch my movies THIS WEEKEND! Now I have to wait until after the weekend to get my movies when Amazon will have to pay for overnight shipping. Just stupid.

I ordered three copies of one cd: one for my brother, one for my sister, and one for me all at different addresses. My order had two other cd's; I guess that is why my order was shipped Prestige and theirs was shipped UPS. Theirs arrived within a day, and mine is still not here. On the amazon website the tracking info shows the items leaving the warehouse only. When I try to track on the Prestige website, I have to have a customer number which I don't. so, my sister and brother are enjoying their new cd's via UPS, and I have no idead where mine is via Prestige. UPS-2; Prestige-0.

Funny thing, I saw a guy driving a non-descript, unmarked vehicle around my neighborhood like he was lost today. I was expecting my package, so now I am wondering if he was a Prestige clown trying to find my house (with the street numer all over the front and mailbox). Here's what we can do. I order music. If you order one cd, UPS is used. Multiple items will be shipped by Prestige. From now on, I will order all items separately. This will result in more UPS shipments, less Prestige shipments, less business for Prestige and more expense for Amazon for using a sub prime shipping service. Amazon, I hope you are paying attention!

Like another person, I live in Louisville KY and am a Prime customer. UPS has never failed to deliver ontime in 4 or 5 years. So today I expect my package from Prestige and it doesn't come. I contact Prestige and they say they never received the package from Amazon. I think several other people reported the same thing.

Amazon, you'd better dump this shipper and I mean fast. This is not acceptable service.

In reply to an earlier post on Aug 8, 2010 2:13:29 PM PDT
Right! I also live in Louisville and am a Amazon Prime customer, and if the item I ordered is in the Lexington or Campbellsville warehouse, I typically get it in 1 day. Now Prestige is the shipper and it is not here in 2 days. This is totally unacceptable. Amazon says wait until Monday and then report if it does not arrive. We need to be able to say UPS only. Are you listening Amazon? If this happens again I'm cancelling Prime membership and shopping somewhere else for books.

It's good this thread is here, and I really hope Amazon is reading it, but I think the best way to send the message is to cancel your preorders if you have any. I used the cancellation reason "order would not arrive on time" and in the comments asked Amazon not to use Prestige shipping anymore.

I just got my package from Prestige with Free Shipping, way faster than USPS and got here really early, I get FedEx and UPS packages late in the day.

In reply to an earlier post on Aug 9, 2010 10:05:55 AM PDT
Lost, I did contact Amazon directly via email and told them in no uncertain terms that I'd cancel Prime if they didn't resolve my issue (leaving packages at rental office, which isn't a rental office and not open every day). The next time I had a delivery, the Prestige employee was aware of what I said and has been leaving the packages at my door, as I requested.

Their tracking does stink, though. It is far from real time!

Well, to their credit, Prestige did deliver today, one day EARLY and at 9:30 in the morning. Yes, the first package was a day late, but it did come in the afternoon, and today's early delivery was a surprize. Maybe Amazon talked to them and told them to get their act together, I don't know, but I'm willing to give them a chance now, after today's experience.

This thread had me a little nervous, but our latest order via Prime 2-day shipping was actually delivered a day early (ordered Friday, delivered Monday). They left the package on our porch, just like UPS does, so there was no issue. Nice work!

I got two packages from Prestige this Monday, a day early. (UPS does this all the time, though, for items that ship from Indiana or Kentucky to Ohio). The fact that they show up without uniforms, identification, or marked vehicles is really sketchy.

In reply to an earlier post on Aug 11, 2010 8:49:40 AM PDT
I agree with you to a point. I haven't had issues with Prestige as of late, but obviously they are not operating the way UPS and Fedex do. It does seem they're working on improving their service. I would think Amazon would spell out in their contracts with shippers exactly what Prime customers expect.

What has me stumped is that UPS is still delivering my Prime packages too. I'd really like to be privy to how the logistics work in this scenario! There is an Amazon Fulfillment Center in my area. I don't get why they're using two carriers for the same addresses (some of my neighbors have Prime).

My Prestige package has yet to arrive. It was supposed to arrive last night and apparently the driver "could not locate" my apartment. They were, according to the Prestige hotline, supposed to call me today in case they had any problem locating me again. It's almost 11pm now, and no one has called, left a tag, or dropped off a package. My tracking info hasn't updated since it was "out for delivery 08/10/2010". My UPS package (part of the same shipment) arrived without any issue, like it has countless times. I'm not renewing membership for Prime if my 2-day shipping turns sporadically turns into 4-5+ day shipping headaches because of these small-time couriers Amazon has decided to take on.

Why doesn't Amazon take a hint here!!? UPS/USPS/FedEx or GTFO! I got the shipping email for my last order and was via Prestige. I'm not shopping here anymore if they do it again. Isn't there any way to get this dealt with properly? If they won't let you choose a shipping service, what about getting a PO box to at least force them to use USPS?

Yes Prestige is so stupid. I live in a Dorm on a College campus, other shipping companies have access to our building but those that don't know to CALL THE FRONT DESK especially with a Big Box that says PHONE right next to the front door. Sorry for the caps but really they "attempted delivery" at 6pm yesterday and will try again today. Our front desk is open until midnight, I am pretty sure if they used the phone next to the door they would be let in. But alas, they are too stupid to call and ask to open the door.

I suffered from this Prestige shipping company as well. Since I'm in amazon prime, I was supposed to receive my order yesterday. The tracking status on the web is totally messed up. It showed the time before the time was actually happened. So, Prestige can travel through time or something? And the status showed "Delay in delivery due to external factors" yesterday. What's that suppose to mean? And today the tracking status showed delivered, but I have no clue where the package is. There is a leasing office in my apartment, and even UPS of fedex sometimes left the packages in my door, I have never lost them. I wish amazon stop their contract with this company ASAP.
