So far I can't get this app to work for VOD, although it does work for small YouTube videos and so forth that won't otherwise work on iPad.

Some droids can run Flash. Those that can, can stream Amazon

Thanks. I may try onlive desktop for a month. However, this doesn't address the inability to download to Apple products. I don't always have an internet connection.

Yeah, that wasn't such a great suggestion. When I was showing off Onlive, the WiFi where we were wasn't adequate to use the App. I cancelled the subscription.

With Apple TV poised for something big and Google readying a set top box Amazon should step up and buy ROKU. I have ATV & Roku and prefer the Roku. It's the most versatile box out there. Still a small company and already a household name Amazon should acquire them and I'm sure their stocks would jump. Besides all the preliminary work has already been accomplished by Roku. Just a thought.

When will Amazon allow the ipad or iphone to output Amazon Streaming video from the iphone/ipad to a TV via a cable. I have a 30 pin to VGA cable for my TV and want to be able to watch movies on the larger screen. Why is this blocked. The message is that Amazon video does not support airplay. But this is not airplay - it is a direct connection!

I just got the new iPhone amazon instant video app, but it will not allow me to stream over 4g LTE. It will only stream over wifi.

Will VOD be available to stream over LTE in the future??

Actually, there's both an iPhone app and a iPad app. I use them both for my prime membership. Go to the app store - it's free. Look under Amazon instant video.

The iphone app seems to only allow streaming when connected to a wifi network. Is there a plan to support streaming over lte? When I am home/wifi available I can use roku. When i'm on the go (commuting by train and bus) i can use netflix but not amazon vod. Why is there a restriction in the app? When will this be removed?

Yes, unfortunately, you need wifi for streaming on Amazon with your iPad/iPhone. In my experience if you've purchased and downloaded a video on your iPad/iPhone, you won't need to stream. Of course downloading may or may not incur charges. I doubt that Amazon will fix this anytime soon. It's been this way for at least two years, maybe even from the beginning of rolling out the streaming technology.
