Amazon instant video not working

I successfully watched a video yesterday with no problem. Using the same internet and computer today I can not? It tells me its unable to connect. Why is this????

They might be updating their servers. only thing i could think of why it would be down.

I watched a series episode earlier in the day, now can't get to any of the episodes including what I watched earlier. I don't get a message though - the 'Connecting' message flashes by and the player just sits there not responding. I notice some content is still available (movies) but most series are not available so it's possible part of the server farm is having issues.

Does Amazon post status messages anywhere? I can't find any.

I figured out my problem. I'm trying to watch it on google chrom and apparently google's latest update makes the flash player incompatible but I can watch it on firefox I think.

I lost my ability to play Amazon videos. I have tried Firefox, Chrome Internet Explorer, and Opera and nothing works. They all say the problem is with Flash. I have reinstalled Flash and reinstalled every browser I know of. I chatted with Amazon and they had no way to fix the problem.

Same for me, roku, ipad, ps3, desktop all say no content.

I did call in at the 877-442-1958 number and Sue told me the entire system is indeed down and they are working on the problem. :)

Has anyone figured out how to get it working again? I can't access my video library or see any new ones. Its too bad. Amazon is going to lose a lot of money if they don't correct this. I was able to watching stuff just a few days ago. I don't understand it. I tried a different internet browser. My java is working fine I need it for school and thats working just fine. What else could it be?

yep. i started a chat with Amazon and they said they're having "technical difficulties." this should make the cover of tomorrow's NYT.

Bought Game of Thrones Seasons 1 & 2 on amazon, thought it was the best idea ever.
I think we'll have to think long and hard as consumers on who will be selling us season 3.

Very disappointed that Amazon isn't even bothering to make it well known that it's their problem and not the individual account owners. Support & Communication FAIL! Feel valued as a Customer...NOPE!

In regards to Matt and his patronizing "CALM DOWN" comment - yes, they are down today, and they are working on it. However, it is not JUST today. Amazon Instant Video has had repeated problems throughout. A couple of months ago, I stopped being able to view any of the videos I had purchased on Amazon Instant Video on my laptop. (By the way, I have no problem viewing videos on my laptop from Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, etc.) I reinstalled Flash Player. I tried in a different browser (Firefox). I called "Support" and was on the phone for over an hour with someone who, again, made me re-install Flash Player and then try the whole thing again in Firefox. After I wasted an hour on the phone with this woman, she let me know that she was not, in fact, a Technical Support person. I couldn't believe it! She told me that an actual Technical Support person would get back to me within 72 hours. One week later, I had heard nothing, and I called again to complain. They assured me that they were working on the issue - that this was a problem many customers were having. A couple of weeks later, I finally received an email from the supposed "Technical Support" person. In the email, this person told me to re-install Flash Player, and, if that didn't work, to try the whole thing again in Firefox. This Support person had abviously not even bothered to familiarize him/herself, in any way, with my complaint. If they had, they would have seen that I had already spent an hour doing these same steps over and over again to no end.

Way to go, Amazon Instant Video Support!! Real Efficient. All these months later, my videos still will not play on my computer. I finally switched to an I-pad, and they WERE playing there, until the NEW problem today. This service is unacceptable and under par. I cannot understand why Amazon can't get it together. They are charging a fairly high amount per video, and the service does not match the cost.
