Is it worth the money 'now' for snow leopard, or should I wait for Apple's next OS?

I lost my Snow Leopard upgrade disk, so after installing a new HD in my iMac I could only load 10.5 then update it. I don't want to buy a snow leopard disk again if Apple is going to roll out a new OS this year, 10.5 is fine for now but if it's going to be next year or the one after before they do a roll out I won't wait.
I don't want to be the poor sucker that buys just before the new shows up! Know what I mean?
Apple a bit too secretive with it's hardware, are they as secretive with software?

I should add my specs to avoid confusion.
2009 iMac (screwed because I missed the new model by an inch!!!!)
Intel core2 duo 2.66ghz
1TB wd Caviar Black
4gig 1066 ram.
I know my machine will run it, but after missing the new 21.5 inch model by an inch, I'm gun shy to buy without checking for rumors or facts I may have missed.

For $29.00, I don't see why you wouldn't unless your budget is super-tight. You get the benefit of using the latest OS right now. I doubt we will see a new version (10.7) released before mid to late 2011, at the earliest.

Thanks tom, I guess I'm just being cheap, but I hate re-buying things!
I also have a real grudge about missing the new iMac by a couple of months. Sure the one I have is great, but...
