Susan Fliss says:
I have a new glass top electric/convection oven with a 'hidden' element. I want to get a mat to put on the bottom to protect it from spills. It seems that all the mats I see say not to put directly on the bottom if you have a hidden element, but to put it on the bottom rack. Why is this? I don't want to put on the bottom rack mostly because then you can't use that rack. Has anybody gotten one of these mats and successfully used it on the bottom of a stove with a hidden element?
