Any book by Alexander McCall Smith (especially the 44 Scotland Street series) and absolutely any thriller by Vince Flynn. Mitch Rapp makes Jack Reacher look like a choirboy. Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher? Give me a break. Jack Reacher is like 6 ft 3.

Lee Child is great but I find Vince Flynn to be even better.

Agree with you about Nesbo. I had the opportunity of listening to him at a book signing. He's a wonderful speaker too.

Deborah Harkness's Shadow of Night. I love this series, the characters, the language, the story....hopefully volume three will be next year! Kay Mitchell

Still Missing by Stevens. I guess after reading Fifty Shades any book would have seemed an improvement, but Still Missing was really engrossing, with a unique writing style and surprising twists centered on a kidnapping.

I agree! Missed these characters terribly and had to read the entire trilogy again.

Would like a 4th book or at least another book by EL James. Not what I expected at all, but the book has stayed with me.

You are so right, Fifty Shades of Grey. I really enjoyed this book, could not put them down, bought all three, the story line is GREAT, that is what kept my interest. Must be an adult read, very erotic, would love to find a book close to this to read again. I am not a reader, however would very much recommend this book.

"Gone Girl" - very twisty and unexpected, couldn't put it down!

"The Fallen Angel" by Daniel Silva. Although I like Vince Flynn, Silva has become my very favorite.
