It will not play the movie and the strange thing is that I have watched it before. I thought it was my firmware, so I updated it and I am still out of luck. Any thoughts on what could be the problem? Also, this seems to be the only movie I own that will not play.

I had problems trying to play Let Me In, but the latest firmware update took care of the problem.

Which movie are you having trouble with?

I have two PS3's a 1st gen and a slim. Thor blu ray can not play beyond halfway the movie on my first gen PS3, but it plays fine on slim. and they are both updated to the latest firmware, I have absolutely no problems with any of the other blu ray movies I own. so i dont think gen 1 PS3 is defective. weird stuff like this happens i guess.

the help blu ray might be trying to load commercials from online, and if the connection is weak, it will get stuck on trying to load the movies in. it happened to me a couple of times, in that case, just log your blu ray player off the internet, it will go straight to the main menu, without trying to load internet content.

Did you delete the movie cache and reisntalled it? Sometimes that fixes the issues.

You can't even fix 3D glasses, what good would you be for a player?

Dances with Wolves (Two-Disc 20th Anniversary Edition) [Blu-ray]
Oskar, i purchased the blu-ray listed above and it does not function in my player on the computer (all my other Blu-ray's work fine). I have an HP using MediaSmart and it asks if I want to update but after selecting 'YES' it just repeats the dialoge box request (the same with saying 'NO'). I have checked the HP website but they do not show any updates for my player. The model # is:
HL-DT-ST BDDVDRW CH10L (this is on an HP Pavillion m9517c)
Can you fix mine as well? Thanks.

Turkish mentioned above the fact that it might be trying to load previews or commercials from an external website and that website could be having problems. Does anyone else own a copy of the movie? If they do, see if it shows different previews before it loads the main menu. I had a problem with Hugo 3D. It locked up trying to stream some preview and I had to reboot my player. It would just flash something n the screen and just froze.

I wish studios would not present previews or commercials on a Blu-Ray before the menu loads. You should have an option of watching those from the main menu and not be forced to either sit through them or press skip to get to the menu.

It could be my player. It is a Sony BDV-T10. I just bought a Ps3 last week and haven't had a problem. Apparently not the disc. My BD player had updated firmware and it isn't connected to the internet so it can't be trying to load things from a website. Well my Ps saved me from having to buy another player..at least for now.

Guys, I found this response from Sony. It is due to a software error on a few types of BD players. Sony is busy sorting out. I have a BDP-S185.

Sony BDP S580 Blu-ray working fine with both Netflix and Amazon Instant Video until network update (Amazon). Now only Netflix accessible; get "this unit needs a software update in order to receive more new and exciting content," when I try to access Amazon Instant Video. Cancel just kicks me back to home screen. Have checked network and system updates: all updated and current. Help, please

I am getting exact same problem as William B, started today, Christmas, on my Sony BDP-S390 Blu-Ray. Worked fine yesterday, and I have the latest firmware update on the player. Netflix still works. Don't know what to do. Please help!
