This is for movie lovers who basically don't care much about new movies anymore. Or at least, it's easy to say that very few movies impress you anymore, so if you're like me, I'd rather just pop on one of my own favorite movies.

Even if it's a movie I've watched many times, I still prefer to watch it, rather than something new.

Making this a lazy movie day for me today, I thought this would make an interesting thread to see what people's older film favorites are.

I've had oral surgery this morning, so I'm home all day today, so I'm watching 3 movies today (so far);

An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) on DVD

Live and Let Die (1973) on Blu-Ray

Raiders of The Lost Ark (1981) on Blu-Ray (later tonight)

Which of your favorite "owned" movies did you watch today?

The Enemy Mine Blu Ray was a treat. I watched that a few days back. Tonight, for Halloween Weekend: The Others.

I havent watched anything these days. but if I was to, I would watch Braveheart, Heat, True Romance, Terminator 2, The Rock, Aliens. Also I have a guilty pleasure of watching the highway car crash sequence in "Final Destination 2" over and over again.

We'll be watching (because the kids want to) "Alice Cooper: Night of Fear" in 3-D to be followed by (to settle us older folks' nerves) "Peter Gabriel: Live in London 3-D". It's concert night! But we're finishing off "Alien" right now, to be followed by "Aliens," "The Thing From Another World" and "The Thing" (1982).

I just saw "Never Let Me Go". Man, that was depressing...

Saw "Never Let Me Go" a short while ago, and it brought me low as well, Jonathan. I guess it speaks to everyone who feels trapped by circumstances of birth who tries desperately to find the way out. IMHO, it's a masterful film, though.

Just finished watching, "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...and Spring" which, though subtitled, is one of the most beautiful, wisest, most lucid films I've ever seen. Wish it were in Blu-ray.

Ghulam (1998) with Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherji

both on Blu-Ray

(I just love Rani Mukherji: she's just so beautiful)

Finally got my hands on a BD of "Harold and Maude", and we watched it last night. Has there ever been a darker, funnier, more deeply touching movie? I've always loved it, and it's even better in Blu.

Saw the Bourne Legacy twice today. 1st with my cousin and then with my boy and his friends. With D-box both times and found it awesome - especially the chase scene at the end.
