Ok. You got me on that one. And that does make sense.

Well that is partially true but only applies to multi region free blu Ray players. Actually you need to download firmware updates to keep the player up to date. Every time a new movie is release the player becomes outdated. It is very important to keep any player updated at all times because the updates can be very big and improves playability.

Look at the back of the set there should be a code like A or 1 or ALL if it says anything else then this the box set won't play. If it's says B or PAL it won't work. You will need a multi region free player.

Where did you buy the Harry potter collection from and take a look on the back of the box it should have a region code there like A or All. If it says anything but A, 1 or all then that's your problem. Also if it says PAL then the title will not play.

We have bought a Sony BPB S1200B blu ray player and to take aqdvantage of the blu ray we've bought the whole Harry Potter collection. But it is saying it's not supported and won't play - Is there something else I can be doing to get it to work?

Don't forget about the ntsc and pal. And also something about 50- 60 frames too.

You also want to be careful because even though it may say multi region free doesn't mean region free. also certain models that claim to be multi region free don't have pal conversion built in so you will need to make sure of that also. Most do but make sure that they have wifi built in because some of the cheaper models don't have wifi built in.

If it's zone A-B-C

I'm not sure of 100% of the question but you need one that plays (A-B-C) and 1-9or at least 1-8

If it is multi region free if not then no. American blu Ray players will only play region a films and most of the UK films are region B only not A.

IThis is what I did. I forget where I got the # at but if u look up LG BP530 you will find a player that plays A,B,C codes and 0-8 zones. I've tried it out with like 5 of my 3D Blu-Rays with out any problem and u can pick it up for I think around $125- $150. I think I paid like $142 witch was a bit high after I got it but it came with an HDMI cord tho. I hope u find what u r looking 4. Enjoy. Ps. I just found the number I got it from. It's 1(800)243-0000

Thx u. I did not know that.I see that I need to just get a new 3D blu-ray player that plays zone A-C and 0-8 if I don't want there to be anymore problems in the future. Is there anything else zone wise that I need to worry about?

Excellent choice. Get one that is region free and it should solve your problems.

Well i guess Maleficent 3d will not play on the ps3 system U.S version.. I don't know why Disney do things like this I had to order Frozen from the UK in 3d which was no problem. Also it seems as though the UK gets 3d movies more so than the US. I have been looking closely at the Oppo 103 darbee system...I don't play games as such but wanted a excellent 3d blu ray player that will up scale my current blu rays and 3d movies.. the Oppo is looking good. and as such the ps3 still does a good job..anyway thanks for your reply
