Hey Cru,
Yes, members have reported finding some decent titles under $10 there, on other threads as well. Looks like a studio-specific promo only certain titles. However, given the relatively high cost on BD, these can provide a welcomed break:)

Hi All,

Frys has some $9.99 BD's. They do charge shipping, but this has been reported to be in stores as well. If you live near Fry's, it may be worth a trip. Here is the link to the online sale:

Hi All,

In case you missed this (going on for a while), Best Buy has 2 for $35 BD's and an e-movie cash offer. These are little tabs stuck to the movie with a certain $ value for a voucher you print and take to the box office of participating theaters. So lets say you were picking up the 3 Xmen movies, it would be $ $35+$20 for the 3rd movie=$55-$30 e-cash ($10 each)=$25 for the Trilogy. If you have RZ it may be sweeter for you. YMMV, make sure you get the movies with the e-cash stickers, not sure if the 2 for $35 is in store, too.

Enjoy!

Or you can just buy X-Men 1 and 2 and skip X-Men 3 and try very very hard to forget that it ever happened. That would save you even more money.
Ohh, I'm just a lil stinker! ;-)
Thanks Digital Babe for creating this wonderful forum!

If you're in Canada, HMV is giving credit for used DVD's, towards BD's.

Is the BB 2 for $35 in-store, online or both? Thx.

skywatcher says:
Hi BF-I know it's online for sure. You'd need to check the weekly flyer or visit a store to see if you can just go in and pick them up. I thought I read BB now does the same as what Circuit City used to do "same price online and in store" but don't quote me. You can always call 1st. You can buy and pick up in store, though.

Deepak Ravi says:
It's available at the store for sure. They have a kiosk out in the front part of the store with the titles that qualify. It looks like they have combined that offer with the movie e-cash - at least all of the titles in that kiosk had the movie e-cash sticker as well.

I got X-Men 1, 2 and 3 and Silver Surfer - all of them listed at 19.99. The $10 e-cash is for 3 movies coming out in theaters. So it made for a very good deal.

They also have Daredevil and a few other titles.

Has anyone tried DeepDiscount.com? You can find a great deal of movies, etc. that are lower than Target, Amazon.com, etc. They also offer free shipping and handling on ANY order no matter what its size.

H. Blake-I've been ordering from them for years. The shipping GENERALLY is slow, but the free shipping is worth it for me, especially because it's the only site where you can order ANY of their items, even if $4 with free shipping. I am not sure if you know, but twice per year or so, they offer a 20-25% off sale. Most item prices rival that of other retailers during these sales, and it's worth it to watch for these. Some prices are raised, but overall the prices are better.

In addition MSN's live.cashback.com site offers percentages cash back or DD. You need to register or login with your MSN or hotmail info, and click through to DD (you must see the cash back tracking window). Once you finish shopping you usually get e-mails telling you how much you got back. If you buy a large qty of media online, it's worth looking at, as they offer anywhere from 4-9% throughout the year. Payouts can be received via Paypal, check,etc-check the site for details.

Enjoy!

@Digital Babe,

Where did you see the B2G1 sale at Target? I looked thru the weekly ad to see their price for Rise of the Lycans but I didn't see anything stating a sale?

Zombie,

Go to their weekly ad online-it's on page 19 or so (scroll through). The staff at my target had no idea what "other $29.99 and $19.99 titles" were included, as the person that took care of the tagging was not in until 1:30 Sunday. So they apologized and let me pick any $19.99 or $29.99 titles. Though it ended up only being $6-7 less than Amazon, and the price will probably fall over the next month, I like to shop at B&M's, sometimes, especially during sales. It helps show that the sales are what works for the consumer. Good luck!

I thought I was getting a deal when I bought the BD-p2500 in Amazon's warehousedeals.com site; however, the player refused to play any of my standard DVDs (I have many of them). Samsung tech support confirmed it was some kind of problem upconverting to 1080i (required by my tv). So, I saved $50 on the unit, but I had to return it and now I have no player and I've wasted at least 6 hours trying to get it to work. Not sure I want to try another BD-P2500... and not sure I would go for another "deal."

In reply to an earlier post on May 14, 2009 9:19:40 PM PDT
@Vstmxo,

Personally, IMHO, I wasn't a satisfied customer when I had purchased a Samsung Blu-ray player (mine was the P1400). The next one I bought after that was a Panasonic BD30 and I haven't had any problems whatsoever. And now you can get the upgraded version of that machine (which would support Profile 2.0) and should work just as well. I think Digital Babe got the upgraded Panny and she should be able answer any questions regarding the new model. Samsung makes great TVs but I have found they might be just a little behind the 8-ball when making blu-ray players AND keeping up with the firmware upgrades. Again, this is just my humble opinion...

OP here-per blu-ray.com, Amazon will have TV & BD deals 5/18-24:

"TV on Blu-ray Special Offers, May 18-24 at Amazon
Posted May 17, 2009 05:10 AM by Juan Calonge

Online retail giant Amazon has alerted its customers of an upcoming "TV Week." From Monday, May 18 to Sunday, May 24, the Amazon Gold Box will contain one TV show for each day, on DVD or Blu-ray. Additionally, a "lunchtime deal" will be offered on a different TV title each day from May 18 to May 22, starting at 10 a.m. PST (5 p.m. GMT).

We shall inform you of the deals as they go online. As is always the case with Amazon Gold Box deals, discounts will be available only while supplies last.
