EdM says:
Many Criterion titles are $39.99, so half off = $19.99. Here on Amazon,
It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (Criterion Collection) (Blu-ray + DVD)

This shows 32% off now from the ~ $50 list of this particular BD + DVD Criterion version. Some versions are only BD [or DVD]. So there are variables depending on what the customer wants. It is rare (but not never) for Criterion titles to be discounted more than 50%, in my experience.

$105.99 seems to be the lowest Amazon has had, according to camelcamelcamel .com.

People, does any one has seen ZATOICHI-THE CRITERION COLLECTION BLU RAY for less than half price. The regular price of this is $224.98 and the best price I have seen on this one is half the price or $112,49. BN has it right now at this price.

Have you seen Amazon putting this one at less than that. I wantb tto purchase this and I am waiting for the best price.
let me know if I should purchase this at Bn or wait till Amazon or any one else better their price.

I have never seen the Criterion titles reduced below $20.00 but you are right there are OFTEN sales at other places (Best Buy, Costco, eBay, etc) where you can get them around $20....Barnes and Noble is just ridiculous in their pricing when not on sale.

Posted on Jun 30, 2014 6:42:54 PM PDT
Fanatic is right. Barnes and Noble generally charges almost twice what most other places charge so their 50% off sale brings things down to barely below the non sale prices of others. I would rather wait for a Best Buy or Walmart sale and get those movies for $10-$15

It's a Mad Mad World is $19.99 at Costco (and they have a lot of other Criterion titles too all at $19.99)

Alan says:
Ever heard of that "it's Christmas in July" thing?

50% off The Criterion Collection at Barnes & Noble through July 28th.
Yes, through July 28th!
An example of why I'm happy - that Beatles "A Hard Day's Night" blu-ray released a week ago, and the lowest price was $24.99...is now $19.99.
50% Off The Criterion Collection means "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" is now $24.99.

Merry Christmas!

Doctor Who specials, especially at Best Buy:
Series 5 - $19.99
Series 6 - $19.99
Series 7 - $29.99 (1080p)

and a few other BBC titles over at Best Buy, like:
Copper - Season 2 - $19.99 (and Season 1 for $14.99)
Call The Midwife - Season 2 - $19.99
Atlantis - Series 1 - $19.99

Today, we see the release of:
Star Trek: The Next Generation (Season 6) - $57.99
Star Trek: The Next Generation (Season 6 two-part episode re-edited to a seamless program: Chain Of Command) - $14.99
* I see Amazon finally got around to lowering their price to match Best Buy.

and if anyone is interested, the 3D version of:
Star Trek: Into Darkness (on Amazon for $13.99)

Duck Dynasty (Season 5) - $12.99 (Best Buy, and now Amazon)
Beatles: A Hard Day's Night (Criterion Collection) - $24.99 (Best Buy, and now Amazon)

and if you happened to miss that $17.99 Lego movie special at Best Buy last week and was interested,
Walmart lowered it this week to $17.96.

Yeah, I bought it back in January for $39.99 and it was a good deal even back then. A whole dollar more.

Too bad, Zero, that deal was for yesterday only for $20. It would tick me off, too, had I missed it. Maybe they'll do it again?

TJ, as much as it pains me to defend Alan, when he made that post, he was entirely accurate about the True Blood season 6 information. Amazon has updated their listing since then.

Target has it for $34.99..cheapest I have seen it so far. My Target had a problem as it came up "do not sell until June 10th" and they couldn't figure out a way around so they ended up ringing up the DVD version for $27.99 and giving me the blu-ray version. I was shocked but very happy they did...though I assume they have fixed that problem by now as this was this morning

Breaking Bad: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]
Amazon dropped it to the $129.99 price (like Best Buy)

FYI as of today for two weeks, Barnes & Noble has begun the 40% off blu-ray sale.
I was surprised to learn in store, this will also include pre-orders.

Bond 50: The Complete 23 Film Collection with Skyfall [Blu-ray]

This is an alert for those who may see this in the next few hours, and waited for another shot at the price under $100.
At 2 A.M. (central time) Monday, Amazon's upcoming Goldbox deal is showing it at 69% off.
I don't have my calculator handy, but if it's $299.99 - 69% off would be under $100, around $95 or $94?

True Blood: Season 6 (Blu-ray + Digital Copy)

Amazon has it listed as "sign up to be notified when this title becomes available."

Best Buy has it for $39.99, hitting the shelves on Tuesday (6-3-14).

Many other retailers are selling it, too, so what's Amazon's problem (again)?

Honeymooners: Classic 39 Episodes [Blu-ray]

This time it's DVD Planet dot com throwing us the bone on one of the CBS big three of classic television - $61.43.

Edited to add: $57.74 now over at Deep Discount (during that additional 25% off sale with code BIG SALE), not to forget the other two (I Love Lucy Season 1 and Andy Griffith Show Season 1) are under $59.00 during Deep Discount's BIG SALE as well.

bond 50: the complete 23 films is $124.99 at best buy. hoping that amazon better this.

Last week (May 6), we had the CBS big three of classic television get released (The Honeymooners, I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith Show) and you couldn't get a decent price anywhere.

This morning, Amazon tossed you a bone on two of them, dropping to $59.99 (if these are your thing):

I Love Lucy: Ultimate Season One [Blu-ray]

Andy Griffith Show: Complete First Season [Blu-ray]

Now if you're holding your breath to see if The Honeymooners will drop, who knows.
Cross your fingers...
Honeymooners: Classic 39 Episodes [Blu-ray]

Weeds: Complete Collection (Blu-ray + UltraViolet Digital Copy) is the bonus deal of the day here at Amazon for $49.49.
