How do I tell if I have the old Fifth Element blu-ray or the newer one?
The first printing had some issues, correct?

The old Fifth Element looks like utter crap. Lots of overly-visible grain, etc. However, chances are that if you bought the movie now you'll be okay. I don't think the bad version's been available for quite a few years.

When I bought it (back in 2008), my copy said "The Fifth Element (Remastered)" on that little sticker at the top of the case. However, I think new copies now say "Blu-ray Essentials" or something like that, so I'm pretty sure that's the remastered version.

So if I order from amazon, how do I know I will be getting the newer version?

Do you even bother to look before you ask a silly question? You are on Amazon already, just do a search. Either buy this version or any repackaging after this one was released. Silly Silly Silly.
