Have they announced a release date for the John Carter 3D blu-ray?!?
I saw this in the theatre this weekend and it was AMAZING!!!
I can't wait to add this to my 3D blu home collection.
I am going to have a party when it comes out.

Mid July is my guess.

Chronicle just got listed for a 3.5 theater to bd gap. But Disney marches to its own drummer, Tron Legacy was 4.5 month gap.

I think Commander Shepard will win the prize.

I can't wait for it to be on dvd - I really find it annoying when the critics just assume it wasn't great because it wasn't number one at the box office the weekend it was released, my only comment on that is Disney should have been aware of what was playing "familywise" that weekend and which film would the family be taking the kids to - enter "The Lomax" - sure little kids would want to see that one, most aren't even aware of who John Carter is and the Edgar Rice Burrough's John Carter of Mars series - too bad! Many Sci Fi buffs have been waiting for a long time for JC to reach the big screen, critics need to cool it!

Just an FYI. Critics review a film before the box office numbers come in :)

I'm going to see it tomorrow, people spread the word and help its box office if its good, this way the rest of the sequels get made like originally planned.

The production budget is reported to be $250 million, and that's before the marketing and distribution expenses. The film has grossed only $35 million after nearly a week in theaters.

The good news is that the film is doing better overseas than it is here in the US, and the studio may eventually break even after home video sales. But the current box office numbers simply aren't good enough to justify a sequel. I would be very surprised if this film crosses $100 million in the US, and even so that is a very weak number for an expensive sci-fi epic.

I have not yet seen the film, so I am not speaking ill about its quality. Unfortunately it looks like Disney did not have a very good advertising campaign for this film, and audiences therefore are not interested in seeing it.

That 100 million worldwide is just the opening weekend(3days). Give a couple of weeks I am sure it will gross far beyond the 250 million needed. A lot of people did not know about this film last week and now I hear everyone talking about either wanting to see it or seeing it again.

Just saw it today, I thought it was great! Kind of refreshing to see something different and unique, I hope it makes good box office so that the sequel that's gets setup at the end happens!

Your post is lame. 100 million world wide opening weekend is hardly a flop.
