My kids are 4.5, 3 and 13 months - two boys and a girl. If your kids like pirate themed books, I recommend How I Became A Pirate, Pirates Don't Change Diapers, The Pirate Cruncher, Pirate Pete, Pirate Pete's Talk Like A Pirate, Henry and the Buccaneer Bunnies and Henry and the Crazed Chicken Pirates. If not, try Bubble Trouble, Burger Boy, The Twin Princes, The Lamb Who Came For Dinner, and I Need My Monster. For truck and tractor lovers, I recommend the Usbourne Big Book of Machines. (My kids are very bright, and they soak up information and comprehend it well, but some of these books might go over some three and four-year-old's heads. They would still be able to enjoy the illustrations and the story line, if not all the language and nuances of the text.)

The Jewel Collar and Hannah the Hummingbird I think they would enjoy both of these books. They tell the story of Aristotle, a Maltese puppy, who moves to a new home and makes friends with the birds and animals in the garden by sharing the jewels from his early Christmas present, The Jewel Collar. They form the Garden Friends Club and the story continues in Hannah the Hummingbird when Hannah lays two eggs and Hayley and Harry and born in the garden and the Garden Friends Club take care of them. Both are stories of friendship and sharing. They are available in softcover 8 x 10 and in ebook format. They are in full color with more than 60 pictures of actual inhabitants of Aristotle's garden.
