@Alison: self-promotion of your self-pubbed book is not allowed on this forum, and is against the rules per the Amazon Terms of Service. The ONLY place you can self-promote is on the Meet Our Authors forum:

Truthfully, these reader fora are for readers to give an UNBIASED (no financial interest) recs to other readers. Recommending your own book is not unbiased. Please stop. Thanks.

My apologies I did not take the time to read the rules I was just excited to see that the Eye of the storm was up on kindle this afternoon. I totally understand. However just for your info I don't get a penny for the novel as all proceeds go to Special Olympics British Virgin Islands...

I think that is wonderful (the charity part). Have you thought about posting it on the MOA? Facebook is another wonderful way to get the book out and remind people that the book is going towards the Special Olympics. By the way, I have volunteered for many years, to be part of the special olympics (sister has MR). I think you will find a good following through the right social media outlets :).

You are going to think this a bit bizarre but it had never occurred to me to push what the book is for on amazon or anywhere else international. I was just assuming that it had to stand on its on 2 feet as a book. Maybe I should take your advice!
Thanks

Have a look at 'Six minutes past midnight' by Annie Christensen it is a 'classical-type' adventure story with two girls around the age of your daughter, no boyfriends, no demons and no vampires but my 10 year old niece could not put the book down, worth a try.

I think she'd enjoy STAR IN THE STORM (girl and her dog) Take a look at the reviews on Amazon. Also, FIRESTORM
is a story she might like about an orphan girl in Chicago just prior to the fire. Both by me!
And SHADOWS ON THE SEA is a spy story that takes place in 1942 Maine when the U-boats came into the Harbors
There is a boy, but they're friends ONLY. Nothing silly teen talk. By the way, kids have asked for a sequel to this one, and I'm
working on it as we speak. :) Joan Hiatt Harlow

Hello S. Tavera. Get Off My Roof! (Cactus on the Roof). I recommend books "Get Off My Roof!" and "Miracle On the Roof"
Charming and unique children's books with fun rhymes and colorful illustrations, inspired by the true event of a Prickly Pear Cactus growing on the roof of a house in Scottsdale, Arizona, following the epic Haboob of 2011. This sweet and simple story is very entertaining for all ages. It is perfect picture books for storytelling at school and home.
Enjoy :)

In a world filled with magic and mystery, young people can be inspired to succeed. Such is the message of the Brazilian children's classic, Ariela Aparecida and the Valley of the Waterfall's Mist. Within this magical forest setting, young Ariela Aparecida lives in the mountainous Brazilian interior. She is absorbed by the life of the vineyard that sustains her family's village, toiling each day to care for the vines and learn the secrets of their growth. One day...

Hi S. Traera,
I think your daughter might like "Journey to Imagiland." People have told me that they can't put it down. That's a good recommendation.
The story is about two girls who were reading a book, and unknown to them they become the story. Kids from 8 to 80 will like it. Happy reading.
