Check out either of Patty Shukla's CDs, "Play with Me, Sing Along" or "Roar Like a Lion". Both combine education with interactive songs for kids, so they can use their brains and bodies at the same time. You can listen here: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-music&field-keywords=patty+shukla&x=0&y=0

Here Come the ABC's by They Might Be Giants has some good ones. They get pretty creative with many of the songs and don't just sing about the typical letter sounds, etc.

First of all, please excuse the blatant self promotion...

I used to sing the traditional/Bruce Springsteen song "Pony Boy" to my daughter (who is five now). I sang it as "pony girl" and went looking for it in that form. I could not find a single version anywhere available that way. So, I recorded one myself and gave it to my daughter for her fifth birthday. It is available here on Amazon as an Mp3 download, with the hope others may find use for it as well: Pony Girl - Single

Check out The Tuneables: "I love Music" 2-disk set at thetuneables.com. This is a new animated DVD and CD program designed to teach key music fundamentals kids should be learning before they get to first grade. The program is interactive and engaging, encouraging kids to actively participate and is loaded with age-appropriate, sequenced music learning. The Tuneables just came out this year and has already won the Parents Choice Gold award and other top awards. The perfect balance between important educational learning and pure enjoyment by children.

Mandy Patinkin's Kidults. Will it make a smart kid smarter? Probably not, but the adults within listening range will enjoy it, too.

Brush Your Teeth

It's not educational like Mozart, but it's the first thing in a long while I've actually caught myself singing (and enjoying!) even without my kids!

How about music from another young girl? The Very Best Of
or maybe music from the "Golden Age of Light Music" series? or maybe someone to really learn how to sing from? Deanna Durbin. 20 Famous Melodies

The song "Caterpillar" by my husband, Colin P. Sumpter, third song on Childlike is a song that is sung and played at child care and pre-school centers. There are some other nice songs on that. I usually don't advertise for him but I was listening to his songs because he is going to re-record with some female background, keyboard, and strings as well as use a studio with a producer. He wanted suggestions. I didn't think the CD would make enough to do over.

Dreaming of Ponies Relaxation CD (AGES 4-8): Relaxation CD for children helps kids relax, heal, fall asleep quickly, sleep well, and wake up in a better mood! Kids also learn age-appropriate relaxation strategies to cope with stress during the day.

Airy Melody Music has two CDs that would be appropriate for a very smart 3 year old! The newest CD "Dreaming of Ponies" has been a huge hit with little girls. The music and story are great!
