So that we can better communicate upcoming changes and answer customer questions about our forums, we created the Amazon Discussion Feedback Forum:

https://www.amazon.com/forum/amazon%20discussions%20feedback

The forum is designed to give customers a space to leave feedback about what they love and hate about Amazon's discussion boards (neutral comments are also appreciated!). Moving forward, we will also use the forum to announce changes in our guidelines/features so that customers are not caught by surprise.

If you have not already checked it out, be sure to stop by. We would love to hear from you.

I suggest keeping the vote buttons. Sometimes I learn from them that I've phrased something badly or been misunderstood.

I think you should give me complete control of all forums. :)

I'll serve a four year term and then you can take over.

HTML capability would be very nice, as would direct links. It would also be great if we could upload graphics as part of a post.

The Report Abuse button is important. From time to time, people *are* abusive, but deletions from your end do not appear to be consistent. Perhaps the Amazon monitors need clearer instructions, or perhaps an "abuse" decision should require two monitors.

I like the Yes/No buttons, but they can be abused. What if the Yes/No button also "uncovered" a record of the names of people who had voted, so that voting records were public?

Right now my browser is working hard keeping 13 Amazon threads open, as well as 19 others. Could you increase the capacity of "Your Recently Viewed Discussions"?

PM's really open the door to abuse.

There's a down side to everything. I'm sure there could be a blocking feature.

anne says:
Evolution: 1)Honest monitoring. Actual monitoring for violations of the amazon.com guidelines and clear, direct messages about violations to the appropriate parties. An elimination of bias on the part of the moderators.
2)Actual amazon.com responses to questions raised as to deletions, et cetera...
3)Elimination of the "Yes" and "No"-vote buttons and the "Abuse" button.
4)A meaningful chance to respond to and to appeal amazon.com actions.

anne: I concur.

Sarah: I suggest keeping the vote buttons.

anne: I would like to see a feature that tells me the name of the posters who voted which way.

Thanks for asking, Amazon.

"I would like to see a feature that tells me the name of the posters who voted which way."

Out of curiosity, how would this help?

I agree Liz. I think that telling the names of voters would cause more friction without adding anything. I've seen people on other threads complain about the no votes with no post - having the names would probably lead to "so I see x Jones voted no, but was to blankety blank a blank to post anything, the blankety blanking blanket blanker".

There's more than enough strife as it is.

Yes .. We should be able to see who votes yes and no. This alone would probably eliminate the abusive, silly uses of the vote. Let people stand behind their votes.

Also I dislike how the URLs stretch the pages.

I also think you should have spell check. Such might help a few of us. 8D

Another thing: often I post from an iPad. I cannot scroll up or down from within the blue box. Any hope this could be worked from your end?

1. Allow us to reference other posts via a link, in the same way we can link to Amazon products.

2. Adjust the page formatting such that long links don't cause forum pages to grow excessively in width.
