M. Galishoff says:
We have so much to be thankful for. Though we face trials in our lives and worldly uncertainty let us be glad and joyful.

"6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith-more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire-may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, 9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls." (1 Pe 1:6-9)

Of course, there are the believers who are joyful. But who can match that beautiful hymn?

Praise God all the earth!

Astrocat says:
M., I'm joyful every day. I live in the knowledge that I am the divine Life in manifestation, just as you are and all human beings on the planet, and all the animals and the plants and the minerals, in fact the whole planet is Life/God/Spirit. Joy is the underlying foundation of Life, it is immutable and indestructible. It's always there, the wind beneath our wings.

And yes, the music is glorious and should be sung at the top of one's lungs.

but why do it on a pagan holiday celebrating the solstice that the pope lied about being Jesus birthday to help convert the pagans to the cult of rome

celebrate God and His Son not pagan holidays

Robin MacKay says:
Lyrics in English for "Ode to Joy"
("Ode An Die Freude")
Beethoven's 9th Symphony

O friends, no more these sounds!
Let us sing more cheerful songs,
more full of joy!
Joy, bright spark of divinity,
Daughter of Elysium,
Fire-inspired we tread
Thy sanctuary.
Thy magic power re-unites
All that custom has divided,
All men become brothers
Under the sway of thy gentle wings.
Whoever has created
An abiding friendship,
Or has won
A true and loving wife,
All who can call at least one soul theirs,
Join in our song of praise;
But any who cannot must creep tearfully
Away from our circle.
All creatures drink of joy
At nature's breast.
Just and unjust
Alike taste of her gift;
She gave us kisses and the fruit of the vine,
A tried friend to the end.
Even the worm can feel contentment,
And the cherub stands before God!
Gladly, like the heavenly bodies
Which He set on their courses
Through the splendor of the firmament;
Thus, brothers, you should run your race,
As a hero going to conquest.
You millions, I embrace you.
This kiss is for all the world!
Brothers, above the starry canopy
There must dwell a loving Father.
Do you fall in worship, you millions?
World, do you know your creator?
Seek him in the heavens;
Above the stars must He dwell.

Tradition. A pagan holiday to you and non-believers. But for the majority of Christians around the world, Christmas is a time to celebrate Baby Jesus birth, even though we all should know it is not his actual Birth date.

Do you know the actual day? Perhaps you should celebrate Festivus on the 23rd. Festivus for the rest of us with Frank Costanza and George from Seinfeld.

Merry Christmas Mr. Grinch.

false tradition
lies told by the pope

i am a true believer -- in Christ
not pagan holidays
nor the popes lies

you can celebrate festivus
tht day is as meaningful as xmas
and at least the pope didnt lie about festivus yet
but the next on might co-opt it if he thought he could lure more pagans into his cult of rome aka whore of babylon

M. Galishoff says:
Joy to the World , the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the World, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government

Albert Ip -

As you stated your second language is English and you are never fluent in your posts, from which article did you quote this? You had better insert the title as an edit.

To you and to everyone else as well, mrs e. :)

Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
'Tis the season to be jolly
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Don we now our gay apparel
Fa-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la.
Troll the ancient Yule-tide carol
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.

See the blazing Yule before us.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Strike the harp and join the chorus.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Follow me in merry measure.
Fa-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la.
While I tell of Yule-tide treasure.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

Fast away the old year passes.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Hail the new year, lads and lasses
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Sing we joyous, all together.
Fa-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la.
Heedless of the wind and weather.
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
