... my wife...?

And Betty, no strange pre-bedtime meals. Just one of those days I guess. Or, maybe I am losing it...

Sleep isn't as restful as it's cracked up to be. Did you happen to eat any canned tamales or potted meat products before lying down?
Maybe you're just losing it...;)

I second the motion.

I just woke up from a weird dream.
My wife, granddaughter, and I were doing errands. Each street intersection was like a hallway in a house. It was our house, but not familiar to me in reality. As I was going from intersection to intersection turning on room lights to illuminate the street better (?) while my wife and granddaughter were occupied in a business, I peeked into one room that was actually a large barn bottom floor. There was an odd collection of animals in the far corner and a lot of uneasy animal noises. I went on down the "street" a little ways to turn on more lights. On the way back, I stopped in to see what was going on.

In the corner was a very large German Shepherd dog that was surrounded by foxes, some type of rodents (hamsters?), some vague smallish animals, and a large American buffalo. The dog was lying in a wooden frame full of hay along with a fair amount of baby foxes. He was playing with them as a cat would a mouse and the parent foxes were quite concerned, yipping about helplessly. I surmised that the dog had found the litter of foxes and was predatorily planning to play them to death, again, much like a cat. I started making noise and waving my arms to stir up the group. It worked! The baby foxes began to scatter, the adult foxes were running around, the hamstermiceguineapig things were running all over, and the dog was not happy. It began chasing the rodents around, catching them and flipping them up into in the air. He was then catching them mid-air and swallowing them whole. The buffalo sprang up and began savagely pummeling and goring the huge dog which, upon regaining his footing, became an enormous male lion, going shoulder to shoulder with the buffalo and slashing at it while the buffalo was trying to keep the leverage advantage.

As this was going on, I was trying to make my way closer to the exit, as they were bound to notice me soon and let me in on the action. The lion made eye contact with me even as the buffalo continued to bulldoze him around. I reached for my sidearm (!) and found it was gone!! (I don't own a gun...) I instantly woke up.

Well, anyway...

Looks like we'll be going out on football. I nominate Suetonius to originate a suitable successor (or, perhaps, non-successor).

Wow Betty. Didn't see that one coming. I would have lost a lot of money.

Didn't know badgers like corn.

Wild cats like long horns.

Go Badgers, huh? Two TDs in 2:07 is a good start, I must admit.

That game especially. Even so it was the loudest place I've ever been.

We went to a Roughriders hockey game on Saturday night. In the restroom on the sink was a Hawkeyes/Huskers ticket stub. A fitting allegory for the UI season.

By chance, my grandmother also served me that stuff. The preferred method was on Wonder Bread with Miracle Whip. I remember the first time I read the label.

She also served lots of cheese, those crazy Penrose sausages, pickled pigs feet...

By contrast, my mother's mother served Dobosh Tortes, pheasant, smoked salmon, fresh snow peas with shiitake mushrooms. Guess which grandma we liked better.
