J Hampton says,
"Oh...make no mistake, if Mary is being worshiped in ANY way we know who is doing it!"

Then you're clairvoyant because Catholics don't worship her.

Amen, Barbara. And a lovely, sunny, warm day it is too albeit a bit windy.

I do not claim anyone here isn't a Christian, Jay.

Happy to hear of a sunny, warm day for you Lily.

My friend in La Crosse WI is covered in fog, my poor baby...

We're going to have 67° tomorrow, a heat wave!

Barbara, we're supposed to hit 72 today. I didn't have to turn on the heat last night. I actually woke up sweating! We were 62 when I woke up at 4:00am. I'm back in summer clothes! Can't believe it!

J Hampton,

"No man is infallible"

Does God ever use pastor Jim to deliver infallible truths?

Even if you are fallible?

Heat Wave

Whenever I'm with him
Something inside
Starts to burning
And I'm filled with desire,
Could it be the devil in me?
Or is this the way love's supposed to be?

It's like a heat wave
It's burning in my heart
I can't keep from burning
It's tearing me apart

Whenever he calls my name
So softly and plain
Right then, right there, I feel that burning flame
Has high blood pressure got a hold on me?
Is this the way loves' supposed to be?

Sometimes I stare in space
Tears all over my face,
I can't explain it, don't understand it,
I aint never felt like this before
Now this funny feeling has me amazed
Don't know what to do, my heads in a haze,
It's like a heat wave.

I feel it, burning, right here in my heart,
Don't you know it's like a heat weave

Martha told me that after she was baptized she understood this song better and she knew what the real heat wave was.

"...she knew what the real heat wave was"

"Something inside

And I'm filled with desire"

"It's like a heat wave
It's burning in my heart
I can't keep from burning"

Love, desire, is the best part of us, the most human part of us

The golden part of us...that can cause us the most pain

...but only in those moments can we know who we really, really are...

We're supposed to get rain Tuesday. Just what I need on trash/donation day. The trash will be protected from the rain unless it's windy. But the donation items can only go in one place to be picked up. I may have to stick to bags this week and wait til next week to do boxes. :(

Yes, Martha and I have been dear friends for over 10 years now. She came to my husband's funeral, as a guest, not a singer.

Some day I will have to tell you about the greatest Advent song ever written that no one thinks about during Advent.

I'm thrilled for you to have such a wonderful friendship. I remember her getting baptized and saying that. You got to hear her say it in person. I read her comments in an interview.

The greatest Advent song ever written? I look forward to it.

"Didn't Jesus say (paraphrasing here) that even if those teaching didn't live exemplary lives, as long as the teachings were correct, they should be listened to and obeyed?"

Amen, Keepin' -

He most certainly did! (Matt 23:1-3)

A message from Richard Rohr, a Franciscan priest...

ADVENT: LEARNING HOW TO RECEIVE

"If Jesus is the archetype of what the gift is and how a gift is given,
Mary is the archetype of how a gift is received."

"The amazing thing is that the Scripture doesn't say Mary prayed
a lot or regularly went to the temple. No heroic anything. Mary
seems to know she is nothing according to her own Magnificat
(Luke 1:46-55)."

"She clearly knows and fully accepts that she stands under the total
mercy of God."

"Mary knows she did not earn this. It was all mercy, mercy, mercy."

"Divine choice says something about the chooser much more than
the one who is chosen."

"In the spiritual world, all worthiness is given. Our only job is to fully
and freely receive."

"Mary was a receiver."

Prayer:
Teach me to be receptive.
