Hey Macheath, thanks for that. It's one of my all-time faves. How about this one?

If I could reach the stars
Pull one down for you
Shine it on my heart
So you could see the truth
That this love I have inside
Is everything it seems
But for now I find
It's only in my dreams...

si. It's interesting that Wynona has recorded a few herself, and to tell the truth I really like her renditions, as well.

I envy the rain
That falls on your face
That wets your eyelashes
And dampens your skin
And touches your tongue
And soaks through your shirt
And drips down your back
I envy the rain

Mornin', Mac! ;-}

It's a really romantic song by Lucinda Williams. Very simple and understated. She's an amazing songwriter - one of the best there is in any genre of music.

Try it out on a lady friend someday - I bet you get results!

This the theme song of our backyard all winter!!! LOL!

"watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow"

dischism says:
The rusted chains of prison moons
Are shattered by the sun.
I walk a road, horizons change
The tournament's begun.
The purple piper plays his tune,
The choir softly sing;
Three lullabies in an ancient tongue,
For the court of the crimson king.

I'm at sea again
And now your hurricanes have brought down this ocean rain
To bathe me again
My ship's a sail
Can you hear it's tender frame
Screaming from beneath the waves
Screaming from beneath the waves...

All hands on deck at dawn
Sailing to sadder shores
Your port in my heavy storms
Harbours the blackest thoughts

Hi dischism -

Everything ok where you are as far as the troubles over there?

Hi! Thank you for asking.

I saw two burned-out cars this morning on my way to work, and the college I was in was in the centre of the trouble. As usual, the media hype things up. :(

How are you?

Crazy busy! :-p
My mother moves in upstairs in 2 weeks, our tornado-damaged roof will be replaced about then, got a new boss at work, getting veggies and goodies put away for winter and a doggie who needs a tooth pulled! Nothing that a vacation wouldn't help take care of just a little!

Just glad to hear you are alright. News reports over here make it look very scary.

I think it's a lot worse in London.

Will your mother's moving in work well? Mine and I get on better with some separation. Not that I didn't stay with her after her open heart surgery, but constantly....

Ah, poor doggie. I've got to take the new cat for injections next week and he's phobic about carriers (get the dressings out for my scratches!) He also howls at the top of his voice when he's in the car.

Was your roof badly damaged? It must have been scary.

We live in a duplex (maybe called a flat in your part of the world?). We live in the downstairs unit and we were renting out the upstairs unit. Figured since Mom will be retiring in a couple of years and she has pretty serious vision problems that will only get worse with time, might as well get her settled in now. She's pretty cool and won't make (too much) of a pest of herself.......... ;-}

Yeah, the tornado was WAY creepy! You could hear it coming. We were very lucky as the actual twister missed us by 6 blocks. There was some damage from wind pulling shingles up but most came from the tennis-ball sized hail. Both our house roof and the buggy barn roof have to be done.

LOL! I've had cats that yowl like their claws are being ripped out just being in the car too! It's h*ll trying to concentrate with that sound in your head! We don't know how Little Dog cracked her tooth - maybe rompsing with the other 2, or possibly during one of her grand mal seizures. It doesn't bother her at all. We had no idea until her regular check-up. But if it would get any infection in there it would be a horrible problem.

Is it settling down in London at all yet? This has many parallels to the Rodney King case in L.A. many years ago. Not one of our country's prouder moments for sure.
