Ghandi was an idiot. He called Hitler his "friend".

you have been intoxicated by the wine of babylon which is poured out by catholism which make men think it is of Christ

I wouldn't mind having a couple of shots of whatever it is that you are drinking.

Clarence, yet this same Ghandi said that Father Damien of Molokai is a great Christian, and a hero to him. Peace always in the Most Precious Blood of Christ our Great God and Saviour

Gandhi considered all people his friend. So calling Hitler his friend does not mean anything. He contacted Hitler twice by letter. The first time to try and convince Hitler to embrace non-violence and the second letter condemned Hitler's actions.

Let the Pope call a mass murderer his friend then see what you have to say.

The current Pope went one better; he was a Nazi for four years from 1941 to 1945. He only quit being a Nazi just before their impending defeat. God sure knows how to choose his top men, eh?

How do you sleep at night telling such lies? Your nose must be four foot long. Of course, the Pope was conscripted into the Hitler youth, which was the law at the time, he was a kid.

But the Pope has taken it in the ear from the Catholic haters, although Ghandi gets a free pass.

I was wondering the same thing about you.

The pathetic excuses offered by Christians never fail to amuse me. What you fail to consider (or, more likely, are ignorant of) is the fact that other, less spineless youth of the time - thousands of them - refused to join the Nazis, and instead joined rival groups. But Ratzinger wasn't among them. The Edelweiss Pirates was one of the largest such groups. They continued their resistance throughout the Holocaust. White Rose and the Swing Kids were two other such resistance groups. Ratzinger joined Hitler Youth instead. It is worth noting that all members of the HitlerYouth were required to swear an oath of allegiance to the Führer, so even though we haven't got a picture of Ratzinger giving the Nazi salute, we know he must have done so. For more on the above resistance groups, see:
http://www.organizedrage.com/2009/08/edelweiss-pirates-fascinating-account.html

You better check this out too - an account of a Catholic priest who, unlike Ratzinger, refused to join the Hitler youth:
"But one man who knows some of the hidden truths in the pope's hometown of Traunstein is Father Rupert Berger, and his story deserves telling.
Berger, now 81, was ordained a Catholic priest alongside Joseph Ratzinger and his brother, Georg, in 1951 in the beautiful church in the center of the town where they all grew up together.
But there was something that set their two families apart.
Berger's family sympathized with the Catholic resistance to Nazism in the town. Rupert was the same age as Joseph Ratzinger and at 14 years old he refused to join Hitler Youth. His family suffered as a result.....But what I took away from the interview and my research in the town was that the pope's repeated assertion that he had no choice but to join Hitler Youth was simply not true.
In fact, the statement is an insult to the memory and the lives of those who did resist Nazism and those who did refuse to join the organizations that were formed to perpetuate its power.
The pope's poorly-thought-out edict to reinstate the Holocaust-denying bishop - from which the Vatican is now vigorously back peddling - was also an insult to those who resisted Nazism and to Jews and Catholics alike around the world."

"Pathetic excuses", also known as "the truth". I know it puts a knot in your shorts.

But I just clearly demonstrated that your excuse was anything but the truth; it was an inane comment made, at best, in ignorance, at worst, as a deliberate lie. Ratzinger did NOT have to join Nazi Youth; he elected to do so because it was the easy option - unlike the other priest I presented, who defied the Nazis and suffered for it. So what answer do you have to this? What excuse can you offer on behalf of Ratzinger's cowardice?
