Macheath says:
According to the Church of Scientology he has reached a "god-like" state and can leave his body at will, can communicate telepathically, and can control the behavior of both humans and animals.

though I suspect he's just another confused John Travolta.

Tom Cruise is not a God.

He is just another human being. One who has done some extraordinary things such as being an "A" list actor. But he no doubt bleeds like the rest of us. Scientology is just another man made religion only this one was made by a sci fi writer in modern times. One would think we could easily discredit something we have seen develop virtually in our own lifetime but too many people are willing to be followers and believe, simply because it sounds right or good. Deify someone as Tom Cruise has been deified in the title of this thread, and followers will gather.

Tom Cruise can't possibly be a god as he actually exists.

Cruise the Cruiserian? Good evening. As a duly-designated representative of the City, County, and State of New York, I order you to cease any and all supernatural activity and return forthwith to your place of origin, or to the next convenient parallel dimension.

Macheath says:
Yeah, all the stuff that's coming out now about Katie Holmes, how she was talking to multiple lawyers in three other states on throw away phones that she had friends pick up for her, it sounds more like someone who was planning an escape from a cult than someone who simply decided they wanted a divorce. The guy's been weird for the last 20 years, I don't know who these people are that are his fan base. Then again, even Micheal Jackson had fans.

Gozer was actually pretty hot in that movie, in an evil girl kind of way...

JagdTiger says:
It is said that scientology was based by a comic book or sci-fi story back in the 1930s or 1940s that Ron l Hubbard wrote and there is a quote about that which says, paraphrasing: (why bother making pennies a word when someone can profit more from starting their own religion).

Could be the biggest ripoff in cult history.

Nah, christianity still holds that world record. But watch out for the up and comers, they are always looking to dethrone the champ...

You're the one wondering if he's a God. I know that he's just a human being like the rest of us. No better, no worse.

Macheath says:
Yet, twice on this thread you felt the need to tell us how great he's doing at the box office, like all the negative remarks about him were bothering you. Don't worry about it, we all have our heros.
