Rubedo, if it was more a slam at wealth, why not slam Michelle O? They're far from poor and she does not have to work.

R:
You could say the same thing about slamming moms then.

The terms, "...hasn't worked a day in his/her life" almost always refer to the privilege of those born wealthy.

What city "gave on to" removing bike lanes?

btw, the Ultra-orthodox aka Haredi are a very minor, small sect of Judaism, about 1.3 million. They are generally not supported by the mainstream Jews which make up the majority. You are conflating the orthodox with the Haredi?

A customer says:
Four independant sources, including the one you provided, say the same thing. 3/4 of mothers are in the work force. IIRC, the source you provided, or perhaps it was the BLS, provides detailed charts showing what jobs and in what sectors these mothers are working.

My evidence, your evidence both come to the same conclusion. But you want to try and quibble over the evidence, because you don't agree with the conclusion. I can't help you with that, and I suspect more than likely in the end you will simply ignore the evidence and continue to think what you want.

"Christ Jesus did not teach the things which the Left advocates. "

Are you sure about that? When I responded to Macheath on more or less the same assertion, Jesus came out looking pretty lefty. I will look for the post.

When gas prices rose under Bush (they more than doubled)

his Administration went to great lengths to argue that they were not under presidential control.

Gr8fl -

You have a lot of emphasis on individuals, but consider this. In our time, the people are the government. We choose our leaders and we can vote out those with policies we reject. That means the people have the obligations Jesus would expect of governments, and the government has the obligations Jesus would have expected of the people.

Let's face it, what Jesus saw was imperialistic tyranny, and he would not have interpreted that in the same way as democracy. Kinda makes a difference.

When politicians and pundits declare that their opposition is waging war on anything I stop listening. It's intellectualy lazy and hyperbolic and is used in place of rational discourse.
