Yeah, try to see if you can get the original album version. They're kinda silly when they play live...lol....

For Me first and the Gimme Gimme's i would strongly recomend the BLOWIN IN THE WIND album with lots of rock and roll covers, blowin in the wind, wild world (hoo baby baby its a wild world....lol..), san francisco and so on.....

I'm more a music person than word/lyric person, but this is something the kids like that has a catchy tune, and reminds me of (literally) forgotten years:

We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monáe)

Hi Mac!

Yeah, I was looking for something else on YouTube and found it by accident. I used to and still do like it, as well. :)

A Customer says:
Hi Faith, doesn't that guy sound exactly like Don McLean? Everytime I hear it I'm half expecting him to break into "bye bye Miss American Pie"

A Customer says:
Sue, the acoustic sound is nice on that one. Reminds me of Eric Clapton's Unplugged album, another great one.

You're right, Mach - I can hear that...

It's sounds to me like it's got a 50's-60's flair to it, with that piano, which I like. And reminds me of me and my friends in our youth - a bit, anyway.

Omigoodness - now I have to look up the only Madonna song I like - her version of American Pie. The first time I heard it I didn't know it was her, and I thought that with practice, this person could be a pretty good singer someday...LOL!

Saw Heart years ago...

Ann is a strong singer, and although her sister has the same beautiful voice, you can sense her shyness. After Ann sang for a bit, she introduced her "most favorite singer", her sister Nancy. It was sweet - and to me it seemed Nancy preferred being background, although her voice is beautiful although it's like she's not as confident a singer...

If I could sing half as good as either one of them, I'd be happy.

Lenten Lily says:
Somewhere in the night
There's a heart that beats so fast
I can feel the heat
Of the fire in your eyes
Burning like a naked flame
Waiting for the ice to break
Counting down the days
Waiting for the weekend

Lonely is the night
Silence is a friend to wake with
With no one else to talk to

But on a Friday night
It's alright, it's alright
You can be who you want to be
Take off for the weekend
If you can dance you can dance with me
'Cos it's Friday night

It's alright, it's alright
Nothing's gonna stop me now
I'm all wired up and ready to go
I'm on my way
Let's get on with the show

Here comes the weekend

Here comes the weekend

Somewhere in the heat
There's a heart that beats so fast
I can hear your voice
Talk to me tonight
Taking a different face
Every time I hear your name
I'm counting down the days
Waiting for the weekend

Lonely is the night
When all are sleeping
Silence is a friend you walk with
With no one else to talk to

But on a Friday night
It's alright, it's alright
You can be who you want to be
Take of for the weekend
If you dance you can dance with me
'Cos it's Friday night
It's alright, it's alright

Nothing's gonna stop me now
I'm all wired up and ready to go
And I'm on my way
It's the weekend
And it's starting today

Here comes the weekend

Here comes the weekend

Lenten Lily says:
I always knew we were meant to be lovers
I always knew we were made for each other
I always knew there was no one else could make me feel this way
But when you go away

The angels cry
Each time we say goodbye
The angels cry
Each time we say goodbye

The summer sun always shines when you're with me
I feel its warmth in the love that you give me
I feel your touch and I know that's where I always want to stay
But when you go away

The angels cry
Each time we say goodbye
The angels cry
Each time we say goodbye

When we're apart
The rain it falls
The wind it calls
For you my love

Right from the start
When our love was young
The rising sun
The only one was you my love

I always knew we were meant to be lovers
I always knew we were made for each other
I always knew there was no one else could make me feel this way
But when you go away

The angels cry
Each time we say goodbye
The angels cry
Each time we say goodbye

The angels cry
Each time we say goodbye
The angels cry
Each time we say goodbye

The angels cry
Each time we say goodbye
The angels cry
Each time we say goodbye

Lenten Lily says:
The summer sun is fading as the year grows old
And darker days are drawing near
The winter winds will be much colder
Now you're not here

I watch the birds fly south across the autumn sky
And one by one they disappear
I wish that I was flying with them
Now you're not here

Like the sun through the trees you came to love me
Like a leaf on a breeze you blew away

Through autumn's golden gown we used to kick our way
You always loved this time of year
Those fallen leaves lie undisturbed now
'Cause you're not here
'Cause you're not here
'Cause you're not here

Like the sun through the trees you came to love me
Like a leaf on a breeze you blew away

A gentle rain falls softly on my weary eyes
As if to hide a lonely tear
My life will be forever autumn
'Cause you're not here
'Cause you're not here
'Cause you're not here

Lenten Lily says:
The sun and moon every day
Day and night mark my play
See the future in the past
Try to change or make it last
Go for broke dont regret
Get your hands dirty get you feet wet
Take your place use me well
Im in your hands so make me tell
A broken dream seems unkind
But I can help for I am time

I can heal you
Its not a matter of slight
Only of sound
Let me... feel for you
Feel for yourself
The love all around
I can... lead you
Is you soul afraid
Of what youve made
Do you know the way
The spirit goes

All around on the wind
Distant whispers of what I bring
In the day in the night
Locked in the words of lovers delight
If Im lost or mislaid
Just keep looking dont be afraid
In the eye on the mind
Im everything and yours to find
Im not far just discover
Im in you for I am love

I can heal you
Its not a matter of slight
Only of sound
Let me... feel for you
Feel for yourself
The love all around
I can... lead you
Is you soul afraid
Of what youve made
Do you know the way
The spirit goes

G'day 12345,
I am at this moment listening to Karen Carpenter harmonising with her brother singing the epitomal (yes made that up) comfort words, and the reason that birds suddenly appear.

Close to you.

Totally random.

Our government tv channel plays 6 or 8 hours of latest-hottest, classic, unique, beautiful, ugly, confronting, stupid, inspiring, raw, refined my-generation-contemporary music videos every Friday and Saturday night, aabout 11 till 6, 7, nine sometimes.

They have national and international bands guest as programmers/presenters with access to the entire Australian Broadcastin Corporation archive.

Far better thn i-poop, or youwank, on random

I've just heard Sade sing Smooth operator, and Boy George is singing Karma Chamelion right now.

Ooh! Now there's some heavy/hard industrial band I don't know.

Now a punk-thrash one.

It's not-for-profit see.

Here's the list for tonight if anyone is interested.

Owned By Kitties is Keepin' The Faith Alive says:
The summer sun is fading as the year grows old...

jb: I not only know this one, I can affect every emotion wrenching cadence and emphasis.

Pitch a little less.

Real loud, full-boar, driving to work.
