OK, so quick poll: how many people are of the opinion that "Christ" is simply a metaphor for the Soul, I AM, or Higher Self?

IFF: I agree with that.

DSC: I agree...the funny thing is...who's speaking to who?

DSC,
Who do you think is speaking to who?

D. S. Clark says:
Well, we are always ultimately speaking to our self.

Personally I like to consider levels of "self", which seems to be how we operate. We have our pure awareness (Self) for instance, but it's been fooled into thinking it is somebody specific (physical/mental self) in this one life...as opposed to being somebody specific over many lives (another level of self). There is also it seems, a Higher Self, which retains full awareness and identity and watches over us while we roam around down here. This Higher Self is essentially "God" to us, even though the HS or Angel has it's own Higher Self.

So which self is speaking to which self? It depends...on who you "are" at the time. It's quite a tricky little mental problem, isn't it? Who are you now? And who is there to speak to? Which part of you is doing the speaking and which part is hearing it?

Personally I think we can almost choose to speak from and to whichever "self" we need to for a particular intention. Or we can choose to stop speaking all together.

Personally I had an interesting experience a few months ago which I detailed here, where I spoke to Silence and then listened and actually felt answers. In that case I'm pretty sure my ego/mind asked the questions and my Soul/HS answered.

But what's to stop my Soul from speaking to my ego/mind?

Astrocat says:
D.S., the problem is with the sense of separation, as if the "ego/mind" is separated from the Soul. I think, from your previous posts, that you don't recognize such a separation, and yet it sounds odd to say that "I" am speaking to "i", or Ego is speaking to ego. It's rather like trying to come with a genderless pronoun so we don't have to say "hers or his", or s/he, or some such configuration.

D. S. Clark says:
At the deepest there is no separation...and yet separation is being used for a purpose. There's no sense denying either of those, in my opinion.

For instance, I have a single body with a single brain. And yet my brain has divided sections and my body is divided into various organs. Is my body one or many?

Astrocat says:
D.S., the appearance of separation is just that, an illusion, and not reality. I'm not one who insists that we never use dualistic concepts, however, as we do live in a seemingly dualistic system. Still, since there is only one Life and we're IT, no matter how many parts we fancy ourselves to be composed of.

The One Life expresses Itself through Seven Rays or personalities, or qualities, as you like it. Still, that Life is One, and so are we.

D. S. Clark says:
Is duality just a concept?

Can a doctor know anything about my ONE body by declaring that it is ONE and then sending me home to be ONE?

Or must that doctor understand the various organs and systems WITHIN that one body?

Last question...does knowing it is all one (I agree, by the way) answer all of your questions? Or do you suppose, as some say, that all questions just "go away" somehow?

D. S. Clark says:
Are the organs in my body a concept or a real system for making stuff happen?

Does the fact that I have various organs within my body change the other fact that my body is a single system?

Could my body even survive without having differences within it?

Could "God" survive without differences WITHIN?

An electrical system is a single system. And yet positive and negative polarities are necessary for that system to "work".

The human is a single species and yet comes in two kinds...male and female. Should we obliterate the sexes because our souls are androgynous? Or is there still value in understanding the differences and enjoying them?

I can go on like this forever...

D. S. Clark says:
First we bring it all together...ONE.

Then we are free of fear to understand it all...differences and dualities included.

Duality is part of the ONE.

It has a purpose.

Even if duality is an illusion...the purpose for which it was created...is not.

When I look in the mirror...my image is an illusion. And yet I am really there. And both the mirror and the illusory image have a PURPOSE for my use.

I look into the mirror (illusion) for a reason.

I do not see mirrors and brush them off with, "Meh, it's just an illusion."

I look into them and appreciate the illusion they provide and why.

Astrocat says:
D.S., yes, duality is just a concept, because it's not part of Reality. Still, it's a concept we have to deal with. Spirit is monistic in essence and effect, while Soul, being dependent upon the union of Spirit and Matter, is dualistic. Personality is triplistic, of course. So the goal for personality is to become aware of its dual components, and the goal for Soul is to become awake to the reality of the One Life that is its Source.

Yes, my first answer was "depends". "What state of consciousness is asking the question?," is the first question. An integrated human consciousness with proper training should see these as equals. But, like DSC answered, that person should be able to disintegrate into any "other" state separated out for certain purposes.

In my separated out lexicon:

I AM = Monad = Father

Higher Self = Christ Self

I am = not self = me (Nova with 3 lower bodies)

EDIT: Forgot about my soul! lol. My soul has to be created by my not self coming into contact with my Higher Self. This is a spark of creation that enables the higher vehicles more and more control. Once a person gets finds harmony with the three lower bodies (mental, emotional and physical) the soul spark increases its response to the Higher Self (in this case we're calling it "Christ"). Once the soul is under the guidance of the Christ (love guides), then the soul gets a capital S. Now, the Soul (Christ + lower worlds together) can be guided by the Monad (the Monad is freed).

All of that is from the pov of the evolving "soul," however. If we were to describe it from the evolving Monad' pov, it would be a different description.

That's when you have to worry: when the answer is "Depends."
