"How can christians say there God is against abortion or any other violence towards children when he himself was violent against them in the bible. "

My personal view is that the vile acts attributed to god in the bible aren't gods acts or his will. They are just acts of evil by man/natural events attributed to God by fearful believers as a way to explain their reality.

Visiting an old friend. I'm blessed to have a couple of friends from childhood, back in the 60's when dinosaurs roamed the earth (lol). Whenever we get together we laugh more than I laugh with anyone else. I'm looking forward to a terrific visit. What's on your agenda for today?

Bubba says:
It sounds like you resent your husband's girlfriend(?), mistress(?) and that you still care for your husband even though you resent his relationship with her. You have also known that your husband has been/had been romantically involved with this woman for some time, probably for considerably more than nine months; she also knows you well enough to have asked you to pray that she didn't get an abortion.

You have to answer your question about why you are still married to him for yourself. I have have two observations regarding why you may still be married to him:

* You might have some sort of religious reason that is preventing you from getting a divorce.

* You appear to still care for your husband.

Indeed, I have made it clear to Jews who try to distinguish between them that the Word of God is a continuum from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant.

(And who put you in charge of doing that??? You don't need to make anything clear to the jews because christians are the ones that are totally clueless!!! The word of God? well which god are you speaking of?? "Yawheh" of Judaism who told his children to write his word the Tenakh (Jewish Bible) or your "Jehovah" of Christianity??? There is no continuum from old to new convenant because Yawheh NEVER told anyone to make a new covenant under christianity, never told anyone to write the New Testament never told christians to spread any gosepl of christianity.)

At the same time, God Himself does not change -- He is the same, yesterday, and forever.

(LIE!!!!!! Read the bible again plenty of examples of him changing his ways, mind and behaviour my goodness you people must read your book with filters/blinders on it's really amazing how you deny things that aer clearly described, mentioned, written in your book)

It is true that the God of the Jews severely judged a whole civilization for sacrificing their babies to the false god Molech. Israelites valued their children and did not kill them.

(Wrong,Wrong,Wrong my examples had NOTHING to do with punishment for sacrificing babies to a false god I made that very clear, what I POSTED about the violence from your God was for other offenses not child sacrifice and for your information the isrealites were commanded to kill there children if they were unruly/disobediant by stoning them to death this was passed down by there god the one you christians love and worship.Guess it's been awhile since you read the bible better open it up again and re-educate yourself with it)

Wrong your posts are in EXTREME error your just in denial as a christian cult member and for your information I do not respect, worship, love or obey your gOD so he has no authority over me as a non-beleiver.Do you have to obey Allah??? No you don't cause you reject him well I reject your Jehovah so therefore he CANNOT judge me and I judge him based on his violent, barbaric, inhumane behaviour described in his word.

God is the only Righteous Judge who has the right to judge everyone in His Creation.

"Which gOD?? You need to be specific?? "Yahwheh,Jehovah or Allah"

Gr8fl2bHis says:
God created this world and it is because of His love and power that we exist. It is true that God is (and always has been) the only Righteous Judge. HE judges us. It is the worst sort of folly and arrogance to assume we are capable of judging Him.

There is only one God which created the heavens and the earth.

In the Bible He is called by various titles. Allah is not one of them.

Yes. I believe in the deist viewpoint of god. I do not believe god is violent or commits evil acts. I would never worship such a being.

Noted and acknowledged, gr8, mate.

But death-penalty should never be lauded as deterrent.

It is revenge-murder pure and simple.

I also have an hypothesis that America has never atoned for Salem, and in fact, witch burning is still the national sport (Julian Assange's show trial will pacify the most rabidly misanthrope - for 5 minutes - WHO NEXT!).

Perhaps, but first we get to choose. Judgment without choice would not be justice.

Nice spot, HFTMusic,

I wonder what the admin bill a month at hell is?

I like the dissipation, and contribution, into the life-force-ether vaguely-possible-interpretation of spirit interface and travel mechanics myself.

It seems to me that you're putting this into the text rather than getting it out of the text. How convenient that between two possible translations you pick the one that you already agree with and call it god being clear!
